I will say this. As much as I am determined not to get too invested in the hype train until about 4 games in, this will be a ball buster if the season falls apart like all the others. This one just seems primed to do well. So many pieces are in place that we have never had before.
OK, getting back off the train and am watching to see how the season progresses ;-)

We're going to do this man.
This roster is LOADED.
I'm all in on the excitement.
We finally have a GM with a brain. I was an infant or not even born yet when Finks built the 1980s roster so I have no basis of comparison, but Ryan Poles is killing it at Halas Hall.
Be happy. Be excited. Get your favorite food and drinks ready for the game on Sunday because we're going to kick the crap out of the Titans and everybody else.

Don't worry! There's a place for those who are optimistic but too wounded from the past to fully commit at this time and that's on the "Hype Handcar"!
I think this season will come down to how good our linemen perform - both DL and also OL. This first game is going to be a good test of both. This is NOT the 2023 Tennessee Titans, but a team that has been upgraded significantly for 2024. I expect the Bears DL and OL to get tested in big way. The Tennessee DL is reported to be really good. And our OL really struggled in summer camp against our own defense.
I really believe our linemen will set the ceiling for this team this season. If they are not good, then our season will be crap. I think we'll pretty much know about our 2024 ceiling after the Tennessee game. If the lines are good then hey, we're going to be fine. If they fail then get ready for a 7 or 8 game win season. And it will REALLY suck if Caleb gets IR'd due to a poor OL this year.

Nothing wrong with that. I'd rather approach each season with hope, enjoy the building excitement, and be disappointed in the end then give up hope before the season and see every loss as confirmation that I was "right."
Why not use rose-colored glasses and drink kool-aid? I say enjoy life while we can!
I'll say this:
Barring excessive injuries, if this team fails to finish above 500, it's a failed season. We have a roster that most rookie QBs could only dream of. We ought to get to 9 wins even if CW has some rookie struggles. If he plays well, 11-12 wins is doable.
Making a WC should be a minimum expectation here. There's 7 playoff spots in each 16 team conference. You only have to be a little better than average to get in.

Exactly.
Criticizing fans for being, you know, FANS, is a jerkwad move. Every NFL fan has a right to have the highest hopes for their team. Even if their team is crap. It's what makes being a fan, fun.
