This is a great article in "The Athletic" that helps describe why the players buy into the Eberflus vision for the Bears. It's interesting that it compares Eberflus' to Rod Marinelli - the players respect him.
"The Bears aren’t the same team Eberflus took over in 2022. Not even close. Only four draft picks from the Ryan Pace era remain: Kmet, Herbert, cornerback Jaylon Johnson and guard Teven Jenkins. The roster has changed, but the messaging hasn’t.
“Since day one, he’s come in with the same principles — and we grade those, we measure those, we harp on those,” Herbert said. “That’s how things come down at the end of the day. If you hit these principles throughout practice, it’s a good day. If you didn’t, it’s probably a bad day. He’s instilled those in us and everybody in the building knows them.”

Everyone is just getting to know him better. He has a sense of humor. He is personable beyond the nicknames he gives his players. He can control a room, whether it’s full of media members or players...
... “That’s the thing about having core beliefs,” Eberflus said. “When you have core beliefs, you stand on those. And when things are good, you got to make sure that they’re right. When you have adversity, those are things that you stand on to make sure things are right. And you always come back to those core beliefs. Those never change. “Now, your scheme may change. You may change formations and routes and coverages, and you might adjust your front a little bit, but the core beliefs, those don’t change.
He knows his style isn’t for everybody.
“But the guys that we have on our team — those guys that have that makeup, that DNA — we’re able to, with our standards, and the players around them, take that and move it to the next level,” he said. The Bears’ eight captains for 2024 embody that. They’re all part of what’s been built and what comes next, especially rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. “They all love football,” Eberflus said. “They’re all intense. They all have great focus. They all put up great effort in their preparation on the field and off the field. Every one of these guys has it.”...
...That’s one thing I really respect about him: just the same guy every day. Through the highs and lows, it’s easy to change something about yourself to try to fix something, but we just stayed the course, man, and so did he. It’s easy to believe in someone when you know they’re being authentic to who they are.”
