Does anybody still think it's a "bad" idea to draft a QB in the first round?
Who knows. Pace needs to make that call. I don't know what he's looking for in a QB. Picking a QB with that pick (3rd or 4th pick in the draft) is risky as hell especially if you know there are better players you could take.
Also, not trying to spark a boring debate on Barkley after his terrible performance, but players have bad performances and it's not the end of the world or the end of a career. It was a bad game for Barkley. I think The Log was asking him to do a little much with all the vertical shots he was taking.
Well you can deep fry some crow and I'll eat if any of this years QB crop is worth the #3 or #4 overall pick. The only one I have much hope for is Trubisky and I can't even see him as a top ten pick based on how little history we'd have on him.
I'll repeat myself. When you put a QB with a weaker arm out there in that wind and cold in late December he'd better have a 200 yard RB because if he has to pass shit like today will happen. That's back to back multiple t.o. games now.
Bears Nation should be coming down from their Barkley high about now.

And yet everytime Cutty has more than two TOs, people are up in arms asking for his head.
Well that's different. It's Cutler the most hated QB in the entire NFL. The rules are different for him. LOL

Actually I think it may be an even better idea to keep Cutler around until we draft someone better because there's no guarantee any of this years crop are that guy. At least he managed to limit his picks against the Skins to 4.
Time to come back to earth about Barkley Bears Nation. These Cali guys just don't seem to play well in the wind and the cold and last I looked there's no dome over Soldier Field. That was about as bad a game as you could have.
Keep Cutler for one more year
Draft best defensive player with your first round pick and a QB with your second. I could get behind this. I rather have Romo here but Barkley is proving he isn't the answer.

high potential supposed franchise qb vs a 4th string vet backup; jeez maybe the expectations are a tad higher?
I'd be quite happy w/Kizer, ND was a mess this year, even before the season started w/a bunch of stupid players getting busted doing stupid things right before the sesason. And their HC was on the hot seat from the get go, and b/c of that decided to try the 2 qb thing, only to have it blow up in his face b/c Kizer was so much better then the other guy.
For some reason Kelly had a real problem w/Kizer, like Dikta/Harbaugh type problem(and imo the HC was in the wrong again). All things equal, I'll take how good he looked last year when things were far more stable then what he did this year w/the circus running wilda round him.

The pressure on Pace to draft a QB early is going to be huge. Hopefully he only drafts one who he thinks is actually a good prospect and not because everyone talked him into it. I personally haven't seen any QB who looks very good this draft. Granted I'm not a scout (shocking I know).
I also don't see us getting rid of Cutler unless we get a trade for him. Brian "Lose in slow motion" Hoyer isn't going to get the wins the staff needs to keep their jobs. Barkley has looked really bad when pressure is on him. Not just bad throws but bad decision making as well. Shaw is an unknown. So if they do draft a QB it's likely he will need to develop before going out to the field which means the team is going to need a QB.

I tend to lean on the scouts, but they aren't always right, and I worry that they aren't this year. This is a group that didn't feel Marriotta was going to be a high quality starter, or that Carr was first round worthy. They can be wrong; and I think you'll find this year they are also wrong about a few guys in this draft.
