Yeah I saw that. I'm glad Poles didn't chase that price. Giving up a 3rd for a 32yo guy coming off injury who wants a big contract would not have been wise IMO. That trade won't age well for Atlanta if Judon falls off a cliff or doesn't bounce back from injury.

We need a stopgap only.
We need someone that can go through the gap
I think there will be some roster downsizing cuts we can look at. Reddick as a trade candidate is intreaguing but rather smallish for a DE despite his impressive sack & TFL numbers. I wonder if he could be ideal lined up opposite Sweat & Dexter once they penetrate & disruptive forcing the pocket to colapse to his side?

Atlanta's trade is a classic Ryan Pace type of move. Glad we aren't going down that road again. We aren't (yet) in 'win now' mode. If CW hits, we should have multiple shots at deep runs. Patience for now
Yannick and Carl Lawson are still out there as cheap stopgaps for 1 year.

Yeah, I could see Yannick as a stopgap 1 year solution while Booker adds weight and strength this year.

That's the bottom-line because you don't want to cripple the future for some short-term thing now. Poles is trying to play long ball. And that's the way to go.
I wouldn't be upset either way. But hopefully Poles can use the 3 picks in the 1st/2nd round next year to get our guy... rookie contract and a decade of tread on the tires still. But if he had done the trade I'm fine with that too. I keep thinking those 3 top draft picks we have in 2025 should result is 3 stud players on rookie deals.
