Anyone else remember when Fox said Mitch needed to practice taking the snap from under center and literally Mitch's first PS game was 3 or 4 straight series of under center snaps and then turning to hand the ball off.
For some reason I remembered that watching Williams actually run an OFF today. I'll die on this hill: Fox was the worst Bears coach in history.
NO major injuries, the OL didn't completely collapse like many feared, and Williams looked like he knew what he was doing. All in all, a good day.
Agree 100%
All I wanted to see was CW look like he belonged and the OL to hold up in pass pro.
Both passed the test easily. Most of the 1st half mistakes and dumb penalties were by Buffalo.
My only complaints were Tyler Scott & Velus who have both had hands issues and both still stumble. bumble, and fumble even against 2s and 3s. Come on, guys, you two both should be looking better than camp bodies with wheels by now.
Little frustrated with our #4 & #5 WRs but otherwise a very good day.

Today was also a good compare & contrast day for Bears QBs. We saw what Caleb did -- not perfect but played well and looked poised and in command. That throw to Kmet was sick good.
Trubisky OTOH was hot garbage. After a few nice plays to start he quickly became the Mitch we all remember. Hopelessly lost and inaccurate from the pocket. Something like 7 of his last 8 passes were shit throws well off target. Classic Mitch--from the pocket he can't hit anything past 10 yards that isn't a stop route.
Fields was also the same old Justin we watched for 3 years. He had a couple nice plays but after that he held the ball too long, dropped his eyes quickly, took 2 sacks, and fumbled a snap. Classic Fields
There's just so much more to work with there with Williams. He has natural QB instincts and pocket awareness that neither of those guys above could ever develop. You can see the difference even this early.

Velus was a head scratching pick at the time. I had hopes Poles knew something I didn't but...Scott lost me with one play last season. The pass late in the Browns game when he stopped running.
Where was Collin Johnson today? Did he play? (EDIT: According to the gamebook he didn't play. Anyone know why? Injured?)

I agree on Jones and Scott. I wanted to see more of Collin Johnson.
