I just hope Brax's injury is not a nagging issue that he is dealing with this season. Is it a soft tissue thing? Regarding the rest of the offensive line, hopefully they can "set" the 5 guys - like now - and let those guys work as a unit at their respective positions, all summer camp & preseason. This moving guys around is bad even if they DID have a good OL. Offensive lines need to work as a unit to be the best they can be. It is just "that" kind of position group. So I do agree with you, in that "if" Nate Davis is not the guy then kick him to the curb now. Make him the backup. Now. Does that suck because of the fat contract he has? Sure. But cut bait and move on if he's not the guy. This thing smells like Claypool-II to me... more and more as the saga unfolds.
We have this game with Texans. If Davis can’t play or sucks, it’s time to try Bates there. On Brax, I’m just repeating what Swift say’s he’s seen in training camp. Jenkins switched from tackle to guard, so if Brax really does have the LT job nailed down, I’d try the rookie at RG, especially if Davis/Bates isn’t working.
I assume that by "I'd try the rookie at RG", you mean Amegadjie. Unfortunately, he is on the Active/Non-Football Injury List. The only other rookie who IMO would have a chance at being a half decent OG would be Theo Benedet. Benedet is very athletic and is good if he can get downfield in the run game. He is awfully lean to be fed to the wolves in the NFL. He could be a real turnstile when it comes to pass blocking.

Sounds like he would fit right in
He was signed as a UDFA and is a classic project. We won't see what his real prospects are in the NFL until after he spends a season on the PS and has a full year of training and development.

Right — the guy with a 9-letter last name. Lorin Cox also mentioned him briefly as a RG possibility. Hell, try Benedet, too.
