its always about the money, and the owners being billionaires can hire better people than the players who are merely millionaires. Next CBA the players will argue that they want more of the pot and the owners will counter with "you can make 10% more than you made collectively last contract but your % has to go down...and we'll give you every Tuesday off during the season--no practices--and Chicago Italian Beef stations in every facility." Players will fall over themselves to accept.

Count me out unless I can get Marinara and Mozzarella. It may be sacrilege, but I don't care so much for the juices turning the bun into mush and dripping up my arm....

No Marinara for me, but I'll take the sweet and hot peppers (giardiniera) and I need an Italian sausage in there to make it a combo. I'm with you on too much of the juices. It ruins it for me.

There are (or were) a couple of places in the old Little Italy/Little Greece neighborhood in downtown Chicago that had the Italian Meatball and Italian Sausage versions of those sandwiches. Oh my goodness, they are awesome!

I could be dead-wrong, but that is where I believe this is headed (International Football League) with Europe and South America in the mix at some point.

I just don't see other countries having the same appeal to American Football over their beloved Soccer.

Motm, you'd be surprised. The NFL has a very large following in Spain (It obviously lags behind soccer but nonetheless it is very popular). And the same can be said for the UK & Germany.

Just a personal data point, My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in 1985 in London and the 2nd half in Spain. In London, we were hanging at a fairly upscale pub on evening before dinner and we ran into a ton of Bear fans. These folks were as knowledgeable as a local bar crowd in Chicago. I thought it was awesome as I could not buy a drink for my wife or myself for the entire evening in the pub!

In Madrid, there was some interest but nowhere like in London.

I understand what you mean but will there be enough fans to fill stadium each week? I have no idea what the costs would be for a ticket vs a local proper football squad but if the price is not in line, little sales.

I am a very new football fan, Liverpool supporter and would love to see them play live. But I can't compare that to being a Bears fan as I have been that for over 40 years....OMG WOW!!

Europe football fans have been supporters through Generations, perhaps more ingrained in their DNA then the majority of NFL fans. We are talking about various supporters meeting up with other supporters from opposing teams to fight! I rarely ever hear about NFL fans fighting each other in mobs. That is some crazy devotion.

Back to pricing. When Chicago played Buffalo here in Toronto they had problems selling tickets. Of course they were in the $200-300 range but We are a mostly Bills city and they could fill up the Skydome. The only reason I went was because I got VIP seats handed to me for free. Hell even the Argos, our CFL team fight to get 8k people in the stands each day. We have no problems filling p the various stadiums for our Raptors, Toronto FC and of course the Leafs. But American Football? Unfortunately, I don't see it.
