What I like is that this team should be very capable running and passing, so as to not be a one-trick pony team. Keep defenses off balance. Kind of like golf. You want to have more than one club in your bag.
That is what I keep telling motm and MP. The measure of an offense is PPG and TOTAL offense, not whether QB throws 4,000 yards.
I agree on the scoring offense and the overall production.
But to cross over to the WCO/Erhardt-Perkins thread, we need a QB (and offense) who can uncork a 400+ yard passing game if they challenge the QB to beat the opponent with passing. So, we need a QB who could produce a 4K yard season. But the W-L record will be produced by taking what we are given by the opponent's defensive game plan and maximizing our scoring off whatever that is (short passing game over the middle, outside zone run, inside zone run, etc).
