He was on the Danny Mac podcast on YT.
A word of caution, if you haven't followed what happened to Kramer after his retirement, he has had it rough and is coming back from a serious CTE issue, several serious bouts with depression as well as a failed suicide attempt. Believe me when I say, he is much better than he was 8 or 9 years ago, and I am sure he will make it back.

Thanks for posting that, Chuck. Man, your heart goes out to Kramer. He seems like a good guy who has been through so much adversity. He had CTE, then his son committed suicide and he lost his parents back then too. He went through depression and shot himself in the head to commit suicide - yet lived through that somehow. Here's his Wiki in case anyone is interested (LINK). For an undrafted QB he carved out a good career. I sure hope he can keep his life on track now.

And he has some very valid opinions about the 2024 draft QB class. I really like his feeling that Caleb Willliams needs to be able to play within what his opponents give him and not play to be the savior who makes big plays. Personally, I feel that this adjustment would be in the class of rookie growing pains for a talented young QB. But some young QBs have struggled with just this in the past.

I feel that will be his hardest adjustment. When you have been able to be the hero so often, the tendency to play that way is strong

But it is an adjustment that he has to make. This is what will separate him from Justin Fields.

Yeah, I agree. I've heard it described as tough because you don't want him to completely stop extending plays, ever, but rather understand when to do it. It should be in your tool box but not the first tool you grab.

JF had his issues, but I never perceived that to be one of them. As a matter of fact, sometimes I thought he played "throttled down" in order to be within the scheme rather than just playing loose.

I'm not saying that I have real doubts about it. Just that this is the way he has to play in the NFL. If he doesn't, why pick him at #1?
If you think people were hard on Fields, just wait to see what happens if/when CW struggles. Again, I am not expecting him to struggle. Just that, for better or for worse, CW has a lot of expectations that will require him to perform at a "generational" level.

This is exactly what I mean. This is what separates a QB like Mahomes or Brady or most HOF QBs from the rest.

Well, we all know that QBs are crapshoots. I have no idea how Stroud did in his first OTA's. I'm sure there are articles. But this is a time to learn so, I'm not worried, but I have tempered my expectations from him being killer right out of the chute (but not in an Aaron Hernandez kind of way)

I don't expect him to be a polished, high functioning NFL stud QB out of the chute immediately either. Just that he needs to learn how to play effectively in the NFL and do it sometime in his first season.
