Why On Earth Did We Not Give Help to LeBlanc?

In hindsight there were several things wrong with that play call.

According to media sources I respect (code words for 'the guys I like') the defense called was quarters zone. (Sportingcharts.com says its named quarters as quarters are next in line after nickel and dime...take it for what its worth.) Its also called cover four

From what I have read, I have picked up the following (various twitter and internet articles)

Rogers/Nelson both said the Bears have gone quarters in like circumstances and they were hoping for the look. So they got what the expected.

Floyd was being used to spy on Rogers (this makes no sense to me as while Rogers is a threat to run, I don't think him running would get the Packers into FG range, so one of the best rushers was not used to his full potential..aside: also read Bears dropped Floyd into coverage a lot hoping to confuse Rogers. Also have to ask why.)

Packers ran a combo route on the left with Nelson and someone else. The 2nd receiver cut his route toward the left side-line and according to what I've read the safety did was he was instructed to do, and jumped the route. (DON'T KNOW HOW THE BEARS SCHEME HERE, JUST REPORTING WHAT I'VE READ)

The biggest problem is that LeBlanc didn't stay on top of Nelson, he let Nelson get even with him and when Nelson cut his route into the middle, he had gained a step on LeBlanc who was now trailing Nelson deep across the middle with no safety help.

Either way, who have maybe the best QB playing the game with his best WR (both all-pros) hoping they would get a certain look because they knew how the DEF would react to other players on the field. They (Rogers/Nelson/2nd WR) were able to move the safeties and get Nelson one on one with an undrafted FA rookie CB. 

My father-in-law jumped off the couch and screamed 'NEVER LET ANYONE GET BEHIND YOU--STREET FOOTBALL 101!!!.' Have to say I agree.

I do have to give props to LeBlanc who stayed after the game and didn't run off like Conte leaving his teammates behind to answer all the questions. 

All they had to do was run a cover 2 or cover 3 defense with the safeties deep. There was zero need to spy the QB because Rodgers was not a risk to run. Should have been using the guys up from to get as much pressure on Rodger as possible.

So....there was an execution problem....

 After watching our last series on offense, and then on defense, I'd like to "execute" somebody :-)
