If we are 4-2 in the division, I don’t see us finishing third. And if we are 3-3 in the division, we need to go 7-4 in the others to get 10 wins and a WC spot. My feeling is we do both and go 11-6, and are in the hunt to win the North all season. In the end, we put up a good fight but get eaten by a lion.
You have talent. And a great defense. Certainly winning the division is a possibility. I chose third just because I know for sure what Detroit and GB have under center. I'm going to have to see a rookie qb light up NFL defenses before I'll believe it.
Unlike Fields, Caleb Williams will have WRs and a decent OL and a COMPETENT offensive coordinator. Rookie or not, if he can’t produce, Poles drafted the wrong QB. I don’t need him to light up NFL defenses early in the season. Just play well enough to win games. For the first 5 games, I just don’t want to start 1-4. That would be a big problem at Halas Hall.

We beat the Lions in the most recent game and almost swept them last season (should have too).

I know that. Nevertheless, they are still the reigning divisional winners, and have also done some roster upgrades. There’s also your “learning curve” thing for Williams and other young Bears to consider.

He's in a great position to succeed. But I need to see it on Sundays. Esp this franchise. I think if he can even be middle of the road QB, with ur defense you'll have a winning record. Lots of upside for the team if he fulfills his billing.
Our DBs are top notch. Our LBs should be good to very good. Our DL is still a question. We need to see how well Poles has drafted (most specifically Dexter and Pickens). And we could use an upgrade at RDE.
On offense, it looks like we have a top 5 WR room. We have solid TEs and RBs. We could use an upgrade at OC and we need to see how well our LT and both OG's play (and more importantly, stay healthy).
Williams should be a serious upgrade at QB, but he's a rookie and I am sure he will have growing pains.
^^^ this! ^^^ Positives are we’re a young ascending team with skilled players across most positions. Down side is I’m still not convinced our oline is good enough to make a difference.
