I'm starting to see a lot of love from outside Chicago media for the Bears (adding 2 blue chips in the draft can do that). As it stands in May where do you guys see your team strengths that you can hang your hat on and what areas could use upgrading (weaknesses).
Our DBs are top notch. Our LBs should be good to very good. Our DL is still a question. We need to see how well Poles has drafted (most specifically Dexter and Pickens). And we could use an upgrade at RDE.
On offense, it looks like we have a top 5 WR room. We have solid TEs and RBs. We could use an upgrade at OC and we need to see how well our LT and both OG's play (and more importantly, stay healthy).
Williams should be a serious upgrade at QB, but he's a rookie and I am sure he will have growing pains.
Put me down for agreeing with dachuckster post above. That nails it. The Bears are a young ascending team with an incredible roster now. I'm thinking the 2025 draft and FA will fill in a few remaining pieces that the team needs to be a true Super Bowl contender. But for this season they should be a fun team to watch as they grow and mature... there will be growing pains, but the talent on both sides of the ball (for that matter on Special Teams now too), is better than I've seen in my lifetime... but that's "on paper" stuff which doesn't mean anything until we watch this very young team play in real games together. I expect lots of ups and downs, good games and bad games where the youngsters are learning their craft.

The Bears currently have a large surplus in grit. Grindy is another word that can be replaced by grit. Both apply to the Bears.
Their two chief weapons are moxie and heart. Their poise is unmatched. So, really, their three main weapons are moxie, heart, and poise. No one expects this.
The Bears "It" factor is off the charts. Not the horror movie kind like in previous years. The other kind. The good one.
The Bears' roster has both milk and whisky drinkers. Sometimes they drink both, but not at the same time.
The arm length on the offensive line cannot be reached by other teams. It is truly top shelf arm length.
What's your take on this season for the Packers? And what's your take on the NFCN this year?
So I have the Vikings in 4th and I'm fairly confident in that. I see them as having the 4th best qb. The bears I have in 3rd with the rookie qb but... They have talent but they have to prove it on the field. Wouldn't at all be shocked if nobody wanted to play them in the playoffs though. So that leaves Detroit and GB. Detroit has monster talent and unfortunately nobody was smart enough to hire their OC as HC. It's a race between them and the Packers. I'll talk about the Packers because it's a topic I'm knowledgeable. If nothing had changed with last years roster they'd be sitting good. They were a play away from beating SFO. They blew out Detroit in November and beat KC the month earlier. Could have won the SB. They know the playbook now. They should have a completely different defense. Gone is the passive BS of death by a thousand cuts. National media who is low knowledge will say the Packer defense last year was near the top in the league in scoring defense. Yeah, they let teams drive the field for 9 min at a clip (so fewer possessions/scoring opportunities) and were too gassed to get a stop at the end of the game when they finally tried to be aggressive. This defense will play a lot of single high man and dare you to beat them deep. This league is advantage offense and teams are going to score. The key is to take the ball away a few times a game. On offense they return everyone but swap talented RB's. Love will look more for the entire season like he did the last two months. It was the Pittsburgh game where things slowed down for him and MLF took the leash off. The youngest team in the league is now veteran young and won't need till December to stop doing stupid shlt like running wrong routes and missing blocks/false starts etc... Add in a couple heat seeking missiles at MLB and safety and I'm excited. As are you guys! I see the division as: Detroit/GB coming down to the last game for the division and both making the playoffs. Chicago in third with a chance for a WC Minn last but the best non playoff team in the league. Should be a tough division.

Something tells me you'd be great to have a bourbon with and listen to ur stories:) The Packers all have short arms. It's a qualification.

If we are 4-2 in the division, I don’t see us finishing third. And if we are 3-3 in the division, we need to go 7-4 in the others to get 10 wins and a WC spot. My feeling is we do both and go 11-6, and are in the hunt to win the North all season. In the end, we put up a good fight but get eaten by a lion.

You have talent. And a great defense. Certainly winning the division is a possibility. I chose third just because I know for sure what Detroit and GB have under center. I'm going to have to see a rookie qb light up NFL defenses before I'll believe it.
