There is just no excuse for the last series, but I saw someone suggest that they are trying out Barkley. So that might explain why Howard isn't getting 25-30 carries.
So they sacrificed the game to give Barkley training camp experience?
This coaching staff (Fox/Loghead) needs to go.
It was just a theory, no one is saying that is whats happening, just maybe a why.
hardly training camp experience either, there is no better way to decide if someone can play then to have them in a game that matters were the other team is trying to beat you.

sorry, hyperbole and a bit of sarcasm. But it wouldn't surprise me...

LOL, or maybe they just wanted to throw the game to ensure the higher draft pick :-)
Even if they're trying out Barkley, that doesn't mean you make your offense one-dimensional in the process. That play was mind-numbingly dumb.
+1 LOL, wouldn't you like to see photos of us fans watching that play on TV? I about crapped my pants watching it all unfold. It reminded my of the Seahawk super bowl play where they lost the SB doing a similar stupid stunt. But for us it was a game in a 3-win season rather than for all the marbles in a super bowl. It probably hurt those Seahawk fans a millions times more. We are used to losing here in Chicago. It was just another day at the plant for us. Another Sunday. Another stupid loss.
I was watching this again. Why on earth did we not give the ball to Howard on that last drive at the goal line? There is no way the Packers would have stopped Howard from getting into the EZ on two plays (3rd and 4th down). It reminded me of Seattle crapping away a Super Bowl win by not running the rock on the goal line. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
You aren't the only one questioning it. Others have said the same. By then Howard was running against a very cold tired GB defense who didn't seem too anxious to stop him with more than high arm tackles. You're 3rd and goal from the 3 and you have a bruising RB averaging 5.0 ypc and you don't use him?
That makes no sense and it's one more example of poor coaching decisions no matter who made them. Since Loggains has been too quick to abandon the run all season long I guess I'll hang this on him. All I know is Howard is probably the best goal line back we've had since Walter and back then he would have been carrying the ball in a situation like that.
So we fight to get back in the game and then the coaching staff shoots itself in the foot twice. Twice on offense and twice on defense. Better players and less injuries won't change poor personnel management and poor game day coaching and we've seen far too much of both for two years IMHO.
