So, I'm getting old I guess.
I didn't realize Trenton Gill was a 7th round Poles draft pick. I just figured we got him where the Bears always seem to get their kickers. The scrapheap.
But, dang. Poles didn't show any excess loyalty or favoritism towards one of his own draft picks. That's kind of a nice change of pace. No "Trent is our punter," moment.

I saw a Poles interview where he talked about this very thing, that you can't hang on to mistakes. He said every man in the locker room knows when a guy isn't getting it done. You have to admit mistakes and move on. A lot of GMs don't do that... and it is harmful to the team.
