Here is what i have seen so far. A guy that at his best is an Alex Smith type QB. But here's the rub which makes grading him almost impossible
No quality wr or te. How do you judge a QB w/the guys that are out there
When the def is playing tough he struggles to move the ball, see the first half of every games he's played; his most impressive explosive games have come in games that looked over, and the def started playing soft coverages. Against the Titans, 7 pts in 3 qtrs, down 20 pts in the 4th, an explosion of scoring drives. 10 points in the first 3 qtrs(all 2nd qtr) down 17 pts in the 3rd qtr(all on his turn overs btw) then in the 4th, then against soft coverages he scores 17.
The one good game where the Bears dominated from start to finish was SF, and they quit almost from the start. Barkley only had 18 passes w/no TD's to Howards 32 rushes.
Add into this that he has admitted he prefers 2 mil up pace play calling b/c it doesn't allow the def to switch out players and adjust, again going back to how they've come back.
Right now, 4 games in, there's just no way to judge this kid accurately. Maybe if he had a mostly healthy WR/TE group his play would look completely different, then again maybe it wouldn't. Maybe he's just not capable of driving the field consistently when the def is actually trying to stop him. He should be invited back to compete for a starting job against a high round rookie. I don't see how you can possibly grade him as potential starter, let alone a potential franchise QB(which the team has desperately needed for several years now).
I hurt myself straining to see that tiny little picture. So I did an internet search. After looking through 100s of photos I found a larger size. But then I really did hurt myself...
I want to thank you for taking one for the team in all those tedious hours looking at pictures of beautiful women in various sexy poses and in various states of undress.
It must have been truly painful!!
Ha hah hahah - tedious hours my ass . I gave him her name in a PM - it probably took him 3 minutes hahahahahahaha ( do appreciate the larger photo though ... she's well put together ) . Woot !

Really? I never got a pm. I wonder what happened. I did a google image search. It did only take a couple minutes to find it. But I spent hours and hours making sure I found the best one....
sorry to end this porn fest about a woman who needs to have a solid meal obviously!!
But IMO, Barkley has earned a roster spot period. The kid has played pretty solid considering he only has 4 starts and 9 games at the NFL level. As well as the Wr group he has been tossing it to. Wouldn't say Pace shouldn't draft a Qb this year, but Barkley sure gives you the option to pass on a 1st rounder if the draft class is weak in the mind of Pace or whomever is pulling the draft strings.
This team isn't ready to compete for a championship anyway, so i kind of like that they may have found a Qb to give them more freedom in the draft, even if that Qb is not the perfect guy.
No apologies needed. Just having a little fun. Besides, give her a few years and she'll put that weight on...
I'm not sure Barkley is starting material, but maybe with experience he can get better. It would be nice if him or Shaw can be a starter quality for a year or two and give us time to draft the right QB.

A PM! Hey, we require complete disclosure of Hotties here. It's in the rule book ya' know. Or at least it will be as soon as I add it and actually write one. LOL
I think you could take the entire Podcast and use his summary towards the end when he says whatever the Bears offseason plans are whatever Matt Barkley has done to date should not impact them other than to bring Barkley back. That's it.
All I can determine myself so far is that he gives Pace a reason not to re-sign Brian Hoyer and no more. Whatever decision Pace decides to make regarding Cutler should proceed according to that plan. Whatever decision Pace decides to make relative to drafting a QB should proceed according to that plan.
It's actually his decision about Cutler that should have the most impact on drafting a QB. The smart move would probably be not to draft a QB in round one unless you could grade him as nearly a sure thing and I'm not sure that's possible this year. He can take one in a later round and live with Cutler for another year if he can't trade him or if he can then look to Barkley as a possible starter and Shaw as a possible #2 or the rookie.
So far Barkley looks to be an excellent choice for a #2 but still a somewhat questionable starter against any top team. So if you expect your #2 to win just half his starts and John Fox is still your HC well then you can probably use him because as long as Fox is still here I don't see a team who'll do better than .500 anyway. After a 3 or 4 and 13 or 12 season 8-8 will seem like a winning season and you can be sure Fox will try to sell it to fans and the media that way.
If Fox is fired well then we have a whole new set of circumstances to deal with depending on who does become HC coach or if Fox manages to replace Loggains with an OC like Mike McCoy if he's let go in SD. You have to figure that with his long term relationship with Fox that Fox will use him as his lifeline to save his job and Loggains will be let go. To me this is the most likely scenario if McCoy becomes available. It also sets McCoy up to potentially take over as the Bears HC once Fox's deal is up.
How all that might impact whatever decisions they decide to make at QB I can't say other than the marriage between Fox and Cutler has obviously soured so Pace may have a difficult call to make here and hopefully it won't be based on expecting too much from Barkley. It's time he made this call on his own and told Fox to stand aside and live with it. Fox has already sent a lot of offensive talent packing before having secured their replacements so this call I think should be Pace's and Pace's alone and Fox and McCoy will be told to accept that decision whatever it is. All options should be on the table.
