Here is a summary on him. Honestly does not make me drool.

Draft Projection
Rounds 4-5
Overview
Taylor’s leg strength matches his impressive size. No punter was allowed to ply their craft more in recent years than Taylor thanks to Iowa’s struggling offense. He has proven to possess the power of an NFL punter and his hang-time is fairly solid when the rugby-style punts are removed from the evaluation process. The directional punting and touch will need sharpening, but Taylor could come off the board in the middle rounds and find work in the league.
Strengths
Highly decorated All-American punter and FBS record-holder with 4,479 punt yards.
Outstanding size with hand-eye coordination to rescue off-frame snaps as punter/holder.
Planted nearly half of his 162 punts inside the 20-yard line from 2021 to 2022.
Displayed power to dig his unit out from deep in its own side of the field.
Weaknesses
Slower approach pace, contributing to three career blocked punts (per PFF).
Fails to squarely hit punts more often than expected.
Has the leg strength of an NFL punter (isn't that the minimum requirement?). Directional punting needs work, slower approach that gets blocked more than often. 4th rounder? Did get inside the 20 in half his punts though. I have to be missing something, but like I said before, whatever we get in the last two rounds are bonuses.

I had not looked at any kickers this offseason. After Taylor was taken at 4.122, I started looking at his highlights on YT.
It really seems like this guy has the skills needed to put the ball downfield well over 50 yards and then has the right spin so it just dies when it hits, or bounces back up field, etc. The following is just one of about 4 or 5 videos on YT with similar highlights.
Eh, why not? With later round talent being depleted this year, why not go with a potentially “generational” talent at punter? Could be enormously valuable in flipping field position when we need to punt.
I factor in that this is a very poor year for draft talent. The talent dropped like a rock after the 2nd round this year. By the time the Bears were drafting in the 4th round it was clearly dumpster-diving for JAGS at the regular O and D positions. Cupboard was pretty bare. So why not get a P this year - considering it's not a typical year and the UDFA's are going to be at this 4th round level.
Considering all that, hey, why not dump our pitiful punter and get a stud there?
And as one NFL guy said, this does help the team - even Caleb and the offense when you can flip the field pinning the opposing team back deep in their own territory all season long.
One of my favorite traits of Poles is he moves on from mistakes, his and others. Pace (and other GMs) got sentimental and even though their pick was failing. Velus having a roster spot is meh but he didn't hand him starting role or anything like that when production lacked.

Exactly! In a year with poor late round talent securing a generational punter ain't bad. Plus we have a D minded coach which means if he gets the short end of the stick one draft so be it! Offense has needed some love for decades

Yeah, the fact that this years 4th round is probably equivalent to most draft's 6th is the only thing that makes me not dislike this pick.
Gill sucks and needed an upgrade, I agree, but I wouldn't burn anything above a 7th on a punter. You can sign vets off the street or UDFAs any day you want to compete with Gill. I am not a fan of this pick based almost purely on positional value. I would have rather taken a flyer on almost anything else--LB, RB, TE, DL, even S.
