I was on the Fields bandwagon until he was traded away. I can't change that. It's done. I just figure that Caleb Williams is our guy now, so I'm all-in on him. And while any QB in any draft can bust or shine, I do believe what's on tape from this year's guys clearly shows one guy in the top tier by himself. The tape speaks for itself.

Caleb does things the others simply can't do.

If the Bears can't take that level of talent and win with it then they can't win with any QB. That's just my opinion. I don't worry about Caleb's ability and talent, so much as I want to see the Bears prove (for once) that they can take a talented QB and develop a great offense with him.

That's it in a nutshell. It's not like we have not had talented QBs. Fields was super talented. It's what the Bears can or can't do with them. Now the Bears finally have infrastructure around the QB that they have never had before. And I see more (and quicker) processing from Williams than we have had before. Those two things give me hope. Of course that processor was used in college. whether it is sufficient in the NFL, we don't know yet, but heck, you never know anything til it actually happens no matter what. We just need to get this season started and sit back and watch. And of course bitch

I hope he is (assuming we draft him). I'm beginning to think that Poles had his eyes on Williams for a while. And I mean long before the Caleb WIlliams story became the big deal of this draft cycle.

I just figure the entire NFL has had their eyes on Caleb for awhile now because he seems to be in a talent tier by himself... someone special the NFL doesn't see that often coming out of college. If another team needing a starting quarterback had this 1st pick of the draft, I can't imagine any one of them would spend it on one of the other QBs in this draft. Certainly not J.J. McCarthy. And Maye over Williams would be like the Bears taking Trubisky over Mahomes. Not a good move.

I have always thought that if the Bear had taken Mahomes in the 2017 draft, he would have cemented himself firmly as Jay Cutler 2.0

So I am all good with Mahomes going to KC. Watching him and the KC team just shred opponents in the NFL playoffs is like watching a Japanese master chef make a sashimi platter. Artistic flair and the cold precision of a surgeon.
