I'm not sure I feel good about this game.
Packers OL is great in pass protection. Mcphee always struggles against Bulaga - Mcphee relies on beating people with his hands to set up his power rush and Bulaga has great hand technique.
Packers havea good run defense. Bears rely on the run game to set up the pass.
Bears don't have good pass defense at ILB with Freeman and Trevathan out. I see AR exploiting this.
I think we have a shot to win this game. I really do.
I also believe the game is winnable. But I hope we don't.
I'm going to pretend you didn't say that. You hope we don't beat the Packers? Why? Just to be one pick higher possibly? Beating the Packers at home is not only fun and make the team better but keeps the Packers out of the playoffs.

And losing gives us the better draft pick that can help our future out. What's wrong with people wanting us to lose?

The Packers run defense has been poor the last month. They can be run on just fine. Their run game has been in shambles but they are finally deciding to stick with Montgomery the whole game which worries me some. He's been their best RB but for some reason haven't used him much. Their OL is doing pretty good but still gives up an average of 2 sacks a game.
The Packers are better but this is definitely not their best team and is beatable. Bears just need to get the run game going and put pressure on Rodgers.

I don't think I need to repeat what we've said in other threads about the subject. I think beating the Packers does more for this team and fan base than it does getting a possible better draft pick. Draft picks are not guaranteed. Hopefully moving down a pick keeps them from drafting Peppers. If so, that's major win for me.

I'm not saying its a bad thing but some fans rather have the better talent.
This game puts me in a dilemma. Either get the better draft pick or continue the streak of us being above the Packers...

yeah. Strictly for the pick. I'd normally want to beat the Packers, if not anyone else, just because.... but since we are already at #4, I don't want to drop down to 7 or so. I'd rather have the pick and make next near meaningful. Just me. I definitely am not going to argue with any Bears fan about not wanting to beat the Packers. I know I am already on thin ice there, lol. The board may ban me to become a Jags fan.
I'd rather win and just draft a QB with the later pick. Which guy is a must have at 4? Garrett and Allen are most likely gone. A lot of people think Peppers is a top pick and it's possible the Bears take him at 4. I think there is only going to be 1 QB that goes in the top 10 if that as of now. The Bears could get Trubisky, Kizer or Watkins yet. I'd rather than happen than lose to the Packers at home.
It's not going to be easy to throw. Generally really cold games are close and rely more on the running game. GB needs to win to keep their playoff chances alive and they're the better team so I think they win. Should be close though.
Packers 28 Bears 21
This game is going to be epic cold. So cold that throwing the football will be like throwing a concrete block. Jordan Howard is a top-10 RB right now (stats from nfl.com). He is going to pound the rock all day long and we are gonna win this game.
This reminds me of the 2007 game against Favre at Soldier on December 23rd. I was at that game (thought I was gonna die). 16 degrees and 22 mile an hour winds, gusting to close to 40mph. We curb stomped Favre and the Pack 35-7 with Kyle "Neckbeard" Orton of all people as our QB. Our no name RB's had a decent day (little Garrett Wolfe & Adrian Petersen... our AP).
Sunday's game will be brutal cold with arctic winds sweeping in off Lake Michigan. The team that can pound the rock will win. Our D will stop the GB run game. I think we will see the D wake up and grab a few ints from Aaron Rodgers too.
Hope to see you guys in the Shoutbox on Sunday. Gonna be a Chicago Bears - Green Bay game for the ages.
