That is some seriously low value on Fields. I mean I'm not high on Fields but I think he's better than Pickett.
He is better, but Poles has no leverage in the negotiation. They knew he must do the trade. Can’t draft Williams and keep Fields.
I cannot see this as a decent deal any way I look at it. Would rather keep him for this shit. Our draftee could get injured for God sake. Do you know that this put Fields in the same level as Dan Feeney? 6th for both of them. And he played like 8 snaps for us. And is an OC.
Cmon Poles, this is a disaster move
The more I think I about it the problem is Fields' contract. It's the same with Mac Jones. Anyone trading for them only gets them cheap for one year. They could pick up the 5th year option, but that would cost a lot for someone who you are just evaluating. If they don't pick it up, they are a FA after that and the team would have to deal with market prices like everyone else.
This wasn't an issue with Pickett or Howell who both have 2 years left on a cheap contract.
Keeping Fields was never an option if you're drafting a new QB.
Can’t believe he is only worth a 6 round pick, would have kept him until draft and hoped for better value , I’m sure you could have got the same value after the draft . Thank you Justin Fields ! Hope the draft is a lot better than the way this was handled.👉🏻👁️

I think we got robbed, but glad it's over. Now we know we will be getting a new QB. With that being the case, I think the best available is Williams so I hope he does not trade down.

No one got robbed. If somebody would have offered more for Fields I'm sure Poles would have taken it. It's clear there wasn't any other interested parties with a better offer.
