Rather than Barkely, I'd rather they sign Josh Jacobs from the Raiders. I've seen several stories that all roll back up to one source, a recent ESPN1000 show where former Bear Jason McKie said that his agent (who is Jacob's agent) that there is "mutual interest" between the Bears and Jacobs (link).
Jacob has better numbers/performance over the last couple of seasons and has a lot less miles on his body. I don't know what Jacob would be looking for financially, but the more recent devaluation of the RB position might work in our favor.
Jacobs would also be a good addition. I want Poles to look at both these guys.

I'm not sure about less miles on him but he has had better luck staying on the field. Two seasons ago the Raiders ran him into the ground with most carries. He is much more of a bruiser than Barkley more like Aaron Jones, a load to bring down.

Yes and Saquon is the better receiver and backfield blocker. IDK but I think Barkley > Jacobs for me.
I normally don't like spending much at RB but this may be an exception with the QB contract clock about to be reset. Bears could easily pay him for 2-3 years and he is a weapon in an offense that really needs more weapons.

The Ravens and Chargers are reportedly taking a run at Barkley he might become to expensive.
