Saw it too. JJ wanted 4 yrs instead of 5 and took less AAV to get it.

Great job by Poles to get this done and off his plate. Very impressed, much better than with Roquan.

My first thought was that the Bears got a really good deal here. Four years for $54mil guaranteed (that's all that matters... the rest is Monopoly money in the NFL). I really did not believe JJ would sign for that. Good for Poles here. He got it done.

JJ gets a 2nd contract while still in his prime, he got something out of this also. This is a win win for both.

I can think of a few that will start in once Johnson drops a pick, gets hurt or gives up a TD. "Of course," they will say, "I was against the deal. How could you not have been against it."

That’s just his AAV. Spotrac and Overthecap both have him at about $13M for cap hit this year.
