Ric, I'm surprised JJ signed for that. Poles got a very fair price there and I agree that assume there's incentives in there to push up the value if he stays healthy (i.e., plays 16+ games which he hasn't done yet in his career).

listening to CHGO they said it could be that it's b/c of the 4 years instead of 5, still it's a very good deal for the Bears. JJ should be able to get a very good 2nd contract to make up the difference though.

My first thought was that the Bears got a really good deal here. Four years for $54mil guaranteed (that's all that matters... the rest is Monopoly money in the NFL). I really did not believe JJ would sign for that. Good for Poles here. He got it done.
