My theory is that getting tagged is what pushed JJ into accepting the offer. I bet Johnson (or whoever advises him on finances) understands the concept “present value of capital”. He’s getting a ton more money FAST under this contract, and there may be some additional 2024 incentive money he figures he’ll cash in.
