They both had some serious issues in coverage, but JABF assures me they were rookies and will improve.
Ummm....Stevenson did improve as the year went on. Did you actually watch any of these games? Did you miss him get NFC Defensive Player of the Week in week 17? It’s ok to give up the bit when it’s no longer a thing.
I watch every game. I hope it’s no longer a thing. He gives up too many big plays on blown coverages and missed tackles. I will repeat my prediction and you can call me on it: He will cost us one or two games this year. I’d love to be wrong.

Stevenson looks like he will be a stud. Smith too. It is tough being a rookie in the NFL at any position but CB especially tough on the defensive side.

If you did then you'd have given up this bit a long time ago. Did you know he was top 20 for corners in "stops" which are tackles that constitute a failure for the offense? Like I said...any time you want to give up the bit...feel free. Its old.
And what a prediction...a player might cost a game! WOW!! Way to go out on a limb. A regular Nostradamus with that prediction.

One or two games is the difference between making or missing the playoffs. He makes big mistakes in big situations. I give up my “bit” if that ends. And my prediction isn’t “may”. It is “will.”

Bro stop it! David will get T.Swift and Hoge after you!

No need. These guys do a fine job speaking for themselves.

He made mistakes all rookies make. ALL rookies. There will be mistakes Caleb Williams makes next year that will cost us a game or two...see how that works with any player, especially rookies? Beyond that though...that statement is silly. No ONE play determines a game. Games are determined by SEVERAL plays. People love to blame Bill Buckners blown ground ball for losing the Red Sox the World Series...but the fact of the matter is taking Clemons out of the game after 7 innings when he was dealing, and giving up a run forcing extra innings contributed to the eventual loss. They went ahead in extra innings, but the reliever they brought in couldn't get 1 out surrendering 3 singles and then threw a wild pitch to bring the Mets within 1. All of THAT led up to Buckners play. It wasn't JUST Buckner, but a compilation of failures from multiple teammates that led to the loss. Same thing in football...very rarely is something JUST one guys fault...its a game that is dependent on all 11 guys doing their job because it impacts their teammates ability to do theirs.

That’s all true, but that’s not what I’m talking about. In a football game, there are key plays and critical moments that change the whole momentum of the game. Any CB can make a mistake even Jaylon Johnson in such situations. But I saw too many with Stevenson. If he can reduce that, get his completion percentage under 60% and his pff grade over 70, that’s the kind of progress JABF is hoping for. Same applies to T. Smith.
This would not surprise me. But we won’t know for sure until we see whether he makes a serious bid for Cushenberry. He has the cash to outbid other GMs.
