Fields is a bottom Tier QB in every meaningful stats. The Bears would be better off without him and no one can provide any meaningful stats showing why the Bears should keep him outside of my feelings.
This is my one post in this thread cause people will cry for stating it.
I don't think I -or anyone else on this side of the argument- have "feelings" for Fields.
We also don't have your particular brand of goggles that see CW as a savior to all of this team... this franchise woes and incompetence.
"Until you show me you know how to generate an offense, you don't deserve to draft guys like CW or Maye or anyone else for that matter. Get it right and stop the madness."
Plus this logic helps me ignore all the CW cultists.
By this logic, though, aren't you basically saying "Until you show me you know how to generate an offense, we'll pay this mediocre guy that we couldn't develop big money instead of drafting a cheaper guy that could work out"?

Yes.
Something else has to be tried.
Now is the time.
Something else? How about we try Patrick at QB since he is no good at C?

I think drafting a QB with the first pick in the draft IS doing something else. We’ve never done it before.

Well it's not like we've drafted a first pick of the draft that often. The Bears have used the first overall pick twice and selected Tom Harmon in 1941 and Bob Fenimore in 1947.

LOL, exactly.
The next ex-Bears QB who goes on to stardom somewhere else will be the FIRST.
Bears had the #2 offense in the NFL in 2013 with Forte, Bennett, Jeffery, and Marshall. But the D was poor and the QB was GoodJay/BadJay Cutler so they couldn't make a run. We could play these chicken-and-egg games all day long.
I love JF as a person. Wanted him to work out sooooo badly. But he couldn't lead a clutch drive to save his life and was befuddled by zone coverage every time. Oh yeah.....that was all Getsy's fault.
The Fields cultists are so enamored with his persona and golden feet that can't see his intrinsic flaws. Flaws which have barely improved, if at all, in 40 games.
I think people see his flaws...but they also know he was throwing to Imir Smith Marsette or guys like that in a lot of those "clutch drives" and so they actually take context into consideration.
