I was reading an article on Johnson on SI, and it stated this:
"Since Johnson’s interview with the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Dec. 11th, it’s already been reported that the Bears have offered him a 5-year, $93M contract extension (MJ Hurley on X).
With an average annual value of about $18.6 million, the proposed contract would be the league’s fifth most valuable cornerback contract in history."

I have heard about it, a month ago, but its old news now. Im sure JJ wants well over 20 per 5 seasons.
+1 And the Bears are sitting on a mountain of money and can pay the man. I have zero problem paying guys who are proven talents like JJ. Lock this guy up so he an be with us on a Super Bowl run.

Johnson just said he’s not interested in Poles offer. He will probably get tagged. The interesting question is whether he will stage a holdout to force a trade if Poles won’t budge off his $93M or whatever. It better not turn into another Roquan Smith negotiation.

Poles knows $18.6 mil won't get it done. The projected 2024 CB tag amount is more than that.

Rule #1: Don’t lead with your best offer. Any car salesman can tell you that.
