I was reading that Jayden Daniels impressed Poles and the staff in his interview. Of course we don't know this for sure but he is of one of the top QB's so at least we have fodder to drive us nuts lol.
I don't know shit, but what I have read about him is that he has had the biggest range of success. From really bad to really good. He seems like the kind of guy we usually bank on. Is not consistent but has potential. And then of course that potential does not happen. He is not my favorite, but I do not know how to evaluate QBs, so will defer to the Bears. Problem is, I don't think they know how to evaluate QBs either.
Well its been said that Poles was involved in Mahomes pick... so, hopefully he learned a thing or two. Do you have a fav possible QB pick?
That said, we are only hearing what other people are saying for clickbait. It's up to Warren/Poles/Flus who they pick. It goes without saying, and I'm sure they are, but I'll say it anyway.... They better be doing their homework and checking it 5 times and twice more before making any QB decisions.
+1,000 It's impossible for us to sort through all of this stuff and figure out fact from fiction - or a little bit of truth spun to meet some agenda. We just don't know. And I know this is way "out there" but I couldn't help but wonder if Williams camp is behind some of this to get the Bears to move off picking him so Washington can... if nothing else, nudging Chicago to make a deal with Washington. I know that sounds like tin foil hat conspiracy stuff. But you really don't know.

I just hope we dont draft a QB not named CW at 1. If we not taking him I believe we should trade down a spot or two.
I've heard Jayden Daniels has been impressing a lot of people. Might be time to swap the ratings numbers...
If anyone is going to be a bust this draft class it's Daniels. He's a slower thinner JF. He was also throwing to some of the best talent in college, and he has only produced at the level for one year. He has his upsides, and may even do well in the league, but he's got a lot of question marks.
I know. It's a bunch of question marks for me as a fan trying to figure it all out. I see positives and negatives for every one of these guys.

He has the height at 6'4" but only weighs 210 I think it was.
They all have their pros and cons. Like others have said, I am glad I am not making the decision.
We are making this a lot harder than it needs to be. Who has the longer arms?
damn, you're right. Unfortunately, we don't know as CW won't submit to measurement and won't demonstrate his ability to jump out of a pool. Also, we'd have to ask his dad if the kid can tie his own (or anyone else's) shoes.

I am a long lean neck man myself.
I miss that blonde giraffe. Man, he was so horrible and he made I believe over 10mil bucks from us. Incredible.

And I just don't know what to believe at this point. I do know that if any of these QBs lack the mental/emotional gears to get it done at the NFL level, then that is a deal breaker. We've talked about it often here on the board about how a lot of the QB game is that mental aspect. I'm trying (really I am) to like the Caleb pick. But these things trickling out now do concern me. I just hope the Bears can get this pick right. I don't have a real favorite now... all of these guys have positives and negatives. I will say this. Caleb Williams is far from being a sure thing. He may or may not be up to the hype train. Could be a home run pick, or a "swing and a miss" strike out.

You know, I keep going back and forth. I think the one that has the most talent is WIlliams. I just keep getting this feeling he is going to be a head case. If you take him, then you have to be sure you can guide him in a good direction, knowing his father is whispering in his ear. If you don't take him, then I think Maye. Is Maye any better than JF? Not sure and so you go back to that question with Williams out of the equation. Of course, if you trade JF, you HAVE to pick someone. And hope you got it right. This is really pivotal for the Bears, and I don't think that there are too many that are really solid in the belief they will get it right. Lots of faith, hope and optimism in the new management, but still not sure that people think they will get it right anyway.
I guess in the end, if we think we can control him, then Williams (but we have an aversion to head cases and have traded out of them in the past - so not sure we will go there). After that, Maye and then keep JF. That's me, but I have no idea if that is right. One of these other guys could be the next Mahomes. Brain twister.

It is clear we are overestimating Fields, if not we would be getting a clear mid 1st rd pick, no? He wasnt that good here, if you look at the bigger picture, and if Poles cannot find a guy at least a tad better than him, with two 1st draft picks, well it would be time to say goodbye.
