During the season, there were times that I felt the plays were pretty good. Most of them were the opening scripted plays. He seems to do well with those. But I don't think he was very effective (awful, actually) when it came to responding to the opposing teams adjustments. Like he needed a week to look things over and come up with a plan. And I did not see him utilizing his players to their best. He wasn't all bad, but there was more bad then good, IMO. If the team thought he was not the problem (or at least A problem), they would have kept him.
Interviews mean nothing. The only team who offered him a job was the Raiders. LOL.
Wasn't that the same thing we said about Jim Harbaugh as well?
Chargers are another team that has plenty of issues, but the Raiders seem pretty bad too. But I wouldn't compare Luke Getsy with Jim Harbaugh who has done his share of winning. Getsy? His claim to fame is being the QB coach for a veteran Aaron Rodgers who probably had Luke making his coffee runs and waxing his car.

I about stroked-out over his play calling. He was clearly in over his head as an OC at the NFL level.

And donuts. Don't forget donuts.
When I think of donuts I always think of Roberto Garza's super donuts :-)

Yeah, it was not good. And I could see a frustrated Fields at times. Can't put it all on one thing, but I don't think Fields was really at his best. He got better, but I think there is more. Of course, JMO, and I could definitely be wrong.
Getting back to the original thread about Caleb, I've tried to learn more about him, as well as his play. The more I read about the guy the more he seems like a solid person as well as player. It's so hard to sort through the stuff pushed out there that is often just inaccurate at best.

Most people here were saying Harbaugh would never get another chance in the NFL last year during his interviews. Here we are at 2024. He's got his spot and will bring his style of Football to the Chargers.
You might not personally like Getsy but at the end of the day. We're just fans and its known the league respects him and gave him another shot at OC. Those are facts.
