I’ve seen what he’s done so far. I’ve also seen him getting his ass kicked in the draft by the Lions and Packers, which is why they both won playoffs games this year. If we had Stroud, we’d be a playoff team. He could have traded Fields LAST year and done what he is doing this year, and used the Fields trade draft pick for a WR. There are ways to get a right tackle without spending the #9 pick which should have been used for Carter. Carter is the highest graded rookie and will be Warren Sapp 2.0 in my opinion. The Eagles problem is not about Carter. The lost their DC and replaced him with an incompetent (Patricia). Cox and Graham are getting old.
If Williams is Mahomes 2.0, the Bears will be Super Bowl ready by 2025. In that case, I will gleefully jump on the Poles bandwagon. But first, let’s just see if he can even get ahead of the Lions and Packers in 2024. You are crowning his ass prematurely.
If we had Stroud, we'd have a QB that has done well on the Texans. I have no idea if he would have done better or worse on the Bears. If Williams is anywhere near Mahomes, I want him. But I don't think he is. At all.
Getsy would be the wildcard. He might have Stroud throwing screen passes.
There is so much consensus that Williams is #1, Poles would have a lot of guts to draft anyone else. I think it’s Williams, unless he deliberately blows up his interview to get to Washington Commanders (his preferred team).

I know. I am just really leery of Williams though. I am not a GM or a scout, so I just hope whatever decision they make, they get right. Honestly though, I have seen so many bad decisions that I know no matter how much they want to succeed, they are human also. Whatever decision they make, we won't know if right or wrong for almost another year.
I understand what you wrote, and it makes no sense. It means that you can't see that what he's done so far is going to allow for your goal to occur. It’s also a silly statement because so much can happen that is out of his control that can keep a team from "being super bowl ready by X year". Appreciate what he's done thus far. The Eagles drafted Carter...were they "super bowl ready" this year? No, they ended up being worse than they were the year before.

You really have to watch what you say around some people.......

LOL...he most certainly is NOT getting his ass kicked in the draft by the Lions and Packers. If we had Stroud we WOULD NOT be a playoff team because we WOULD NOT have DJ Moore or Darnell Wright or Tyrique Stevenson, and we'd still have an OC that would take WEEKS to figure out how to call an offense that sort of works to the strengths of the QB. That trade netted 3 impact starters LAST YEAR, with more to come from it this year and next year. You think Stroud is lighting it up with Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool as his top receivers behind a line featuring Lucas Patrick, some rando FA at right tackle and the rotation of guards we had this season, plus Getsy calling plays instead of Bobby Slowik? Do you REALLY believe that?
I don't care what PFF graded Carter at...his production SUCKED and was dwarfed by a guy drafted in the 3rd round.
Further, the Bears beat the Lions once already and should have swept them this season. I'm not crowning anything, I'm simply acknowledging whats been done thus far.

I found this on Windycity and thought I would post it. Interesting as I have always read that C.Will is not great against the top teams. If this is correct I guess that is debunked.

I've watched this guy look great, and I have watched him struggle. The sports media folks are now at extremes saying he's Mahomes-II, and some saying he is Johnny Manziel-II. Here's what I take away from the negative articles coming out now about Caleb Williams. I think it helps us fans temper our expectations if and when we get this guy. He won't be as good as meatball fans think and he won't be as bad as some of the doom-and-gloom guys predict. He will be like any other QB drafted. Fans look at an aberration guy like Stroud and act like that is common. It's not. Drafting a QB1 is risky as hell. Fans seem to not understand that concept.

We would probably need a year to get rid of Getsy. I would not trade the Bears OL for the Texans’ OL. I would get a WR with the Fields trade. You are always telling me Mooney is a really good route runner. Stroud would bring out his best. Same for Kmet. Getsy is the only thing that would hold him back. Even with a dysfunctional defense, Carter had a very productive year — better than Sapp’s rookie year, even though getting double-teamed almost as much as Donald.
I am not predicting Poles won’t get ahead of the Lions and Packers in 2024, but nearly any draft reviewer outside this forum says the Lions have beaten him in the draft. TE, DB, Edge, RB all better than Poles.
Psychologically, everything you say tells me you’ve already crowned his ass.

So true and I am a meatball fan with limited knowledge in the game. So I go by what a lot is reported.
I was so much opposed to C.Will just by what I was reading. If you want to find negative stuff about someone, unfortunately that is easier to find then the good stuff is. And like someone posted somewhere, maybe it was mp? I am fearful of what is of the unknown with the Bears. a QB scares me but I have come to the realization that the Team and FO cares not on what I think so I might as well accept it.
I figured I post that as it gives a good idea that perhaps C.Will is not bad at all and could be a good thing. What bad will happens if he is not?
I just read somewhere on twitter that C.Will had changed his pic to a shot of him as a little child wearing a t shirt with a fuzzy bear on it but I could not find again it to post it here lol. Again not sure if that was real, a shot at the Bears or accepting of the team. Only that it is.........

I am not trying to be a wedge here but you should go look at the Texan Offense. It surprised me the numbers and the talent before Stroud had his awakening. He does have a solid team around him.

Bears have vastly superior running game. Bears have much better OL. Tunsil is a good tackle. Mason is OK. The rest of their OL is junk. Bears WR/TE receivers at least as good, if not better.
