^Most jobs aren't forever. He's been here awhile, and he started as an agent in 1994, and 20+ years w/the Bears. It was time to move on. Senior VP and General Counsil. Wonder if he was working w/Teddy on the stadium as well as working contracts. Stadium F up might see several people move on from.
+1 I hadn't thought about that angle but yeah, it very well could be... and us fans don't know. I just can't see getting worked up over it.
Team has a team president that is football minded and knows how to run a sports organization. This is no longer Teddy I'm a family accountant that got bumped into a position I never should have had. There is no reason NOT to trust Warren.
One I said that I think Gabriel has gone off the deep end with the Stein firing bc that likely was a source for him, noting he quickly changed his tone about how the bears would proceed in the offseason from fixing the o to the d and why, and it played out exactly like he said. He's also done the same thing with Fields this year. GG might well have just lost his only or most reliable source in HH.
Also I guessed be likely was with Sweaty Teddy in working on the stadium, which turned into a disaster, and looks like that was dead on.
Surprised to hear he's turned into a bit of a hard ass in negotiations though, but between losing Smith and possibly Johnson, and issues with Brisker it might have been the final nail.
Either way, 20 yrs is a long time to stay employed. He had a good run and was great whole here.
It's a head scratcher from a fan perspective. If this is all Warren has done, he's a bust so far.
I agree it is tough for us fans (me included) to understand what's happening at Halas Hall right now. But in fairness, Warren has been here for less than a year now. I get it that us fans want instant gratification. But I do believe we need to give this guy some time to sort out the mess that the franchise has created over the past decades of decay. I actually like Warren's approach to first assess the situation rather than just jump in and start shooting from the hip making bad decisions. I've always valued thoughtful people. I've always liked that saying that it is better to get things "right" than to just get something "fast" - you make a lot fewer mistakes in life with that thoughtful approach verses the reactive "chicken with the head cut off" decision-making. Warren strikes me as a very professional thoughtful guy who will get this right. But not fast.
