I just read that. Yeah, I go back and forth and admit I don't know what is best for the team with that pick. The author makes a good point about the value of the best edge rusher to the overall team versus the value of another WR for Caleb. Both are important to the team but it's about discerning what is "best" and not just what is "good" here. Getting a great WR, OL or Edge are all good for the team... but the Bears have to evaluate what is absolutely the best here. Best for the Bears team.

I admit I am torn. If they go defense, I really hope they can snag an extra 3rd and still get who they want. I think that guy is Verse. Feels to me like that's the guy they want.

I'll probably swing back the other way in 48 hours...

LOL, this guy think that not only will Odunze be available at 9, but that the Bears trade down 2 picks and still get him at 11. No mention of why the 10 pick would not take him first. This is why mocks are only for entertainment value There is never any telling how people will pretzel reality in their fevered minds to get what they want to happen. I am waiting for someone to mock us getting Williams and then MHJ at 9.

I have read an article that has some people (who they are? We shall never know) believing that the reason why MHJ has not done any thing to help his stock rise is because he secretly (Is this the same peeps from above?) wants to play with C.Will and hopes he will drop a bit to #9.

1. Alt
2. Odunze
3. Latu or Verse
4. Bowers

If (and this is a big IF), they are ok with Latu's medicals, he's my #1 DE. I would think they could get him mid-1st round given that some teams will be hesitant to take him. He's the best pure 4-3 edge in this draft IMO.

Despite all the "engine of the defense" BS, I have no serious interest in Murphy or Newton. Flus hired a DL guru as his new DC so he ought to be able to work with Dexter and Pickens to get that group up to speed.

Bowers is a great prospect who is essentially a big WR who can also block.

I can't stop gagging on the idea of drafting an iOL in the mid-1st. That's too rich for me and Poles won't do it either. He's been very clear on positional value.
