Not sure I believe this, but saw it and thought it worth posting. If this is the case, Poles could be under consideration also
From that report: "According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Bears ownership will make the final decision on Eberflus’ job status with the help of Warren’s input. Poles’ name wasn’t seen anywhere in Russini’s report"
It makes it sound like it's just going to be the McCaskeys managing the team with "input" from Warren now. Wow. SMH.
that's how I read it too. But since the article was not from either McCaskey or Warren, you have to take it with a grain of salt
We're being told that Eberflus was not Poles' hire, but rather the McCaskeys. Fields was a Pace draftee not Poles. Now this report that the McCaskey's will make these football decisions themselves with Warren's input. It sure sounds like a "blast from the past" and how the team has been run for ages now. I had hoped that the family was going to stop trying to run the football operations. But now, I'm wondering if it's just the same failed system here. Sounds like Pace is just an office dude and a convenient guy to fire to placate pissed fans... kind of a firewall for the family.

I am going to hold off on judgement here. First, this is an article and we don't know how solid the source is or even if the substance is misdirection. Second, if I had to pick the most competent person to make a decision right now (with no input other than my crystal balls), it would be Kevin Warren. I believe I know a good exec when I see him (ignore the fact I thought Pace was good). A good exec would not leave out his GM. I think the decision will be made as a consensus between Warren and Poles and be given the rubber stamp by McCaskey. He did not hire Warren because he thinks he has more football sense than Warren does. He will let Warren run things and I do not get the impression Warren will ramrod anything through Poles. And if he does, he will do it in a way that Poles does not know he was ramrodded.

Extremely disappointing. That's Poles' job. McAsskeys ruin everything they touch.
Yes, but Poles hired these coaches and nearly all these players except the few he decided not to cut or trade. However, he’s not accountable for any of this.

I re-read the article and, while Poles's job may be safe, the McCaskeys will have the final decision. This is disheartening, as the incompetence will continue, if this is true.
