Bears one of the hottest NFL teams as the '23 season ends.

I'll keep saying it...
Anyone who expected playoffs this season were only fooling themselves. Yes, they were this > < close to making it, but the word "expected" has significance.
Poles was hired to reconstruct the Chicago Bears, front to back. He tore the club down to the studs, washed off all of that dead money, gave his scouts the best cap space in the business and, as JABF illustrated in another thread, gave his coaches a roster with 30 new faces. 2nd year (please note) HC from a defensive background (also note) had to handle HC and DC duties after the start of the regular season (due to whatever it was Alan Williams got involved in) and had to wait on the development of his 1st time OC (jury still in deliberation) who is still trying to figure out how properly use the most athletic QB the team has (arguably) ever had (and can throw). JF1 might not have Peyton Manning's Football IQ, but few do (and dammit... Caleb Williams is N O T a generational QB).
The Bears passed on a "sure-fire" 3tDT (hahahahahahaha!!) and drafted a stud RT (bam!). The secondary FINALLY started showing they are what they said they are. And I'm sorry, but EJax... 31 is 31 and once again, Poles is gonna need to find him another FS in the draft (along with MHJr, another DE and a Center).
All in all, anyone "disappointed" in this season need to develop a short memory and starting looking forward to 2024.
