The news from Rapoport is that Flus is coming back. That increases the chance that Fields and Getsy will come back, too. Faiz says Poles wants “continuity “. Maybe it will all work with “learning curve.”
Why am I getting nauseous thinking about that?
Pace and Nagy all over again lol.
I mean friends do look out for each other. Everyone knows Poles and Flus are friends.

The best GM/HC model is one where the two work very closely together. There needs to be a mutual respect and they need to have a shared vision and plan for making the vision a reality. In our case, both men have been in the NFL long enough to know the hard realities of the relationship too. One or both can be fired at any time. Poles and Eberflus know this.
Poles understands his career depends upon him NOT keeping a guy if he can't cut it as HC. Fans need to get a grip here. We let our imaginations run wild to the point we look ignorant.

When you have someone who just came off a massive win like Jim Harbaugh thinking of coming back to the NFL. With his success in both College and NFL. Do you not entertain the idea of bringing the man over? Eberflus hasn't really done much. Still have a horrible pass defense, blew 3 games in the 4th quarter. Plus what self respecting OC wants to come over to the Bears if Eberflus future isn't save for one more year.

There is zero chance that Harbaugh comes to the Bears. It isn't happening. JMO.

That is an excellent point! I would think they'd need to make a commitment of 3 more years to Eberflus to get a new good offensive staff.

Then you look at the talent on this team.
Fields is not a passer. He hasn't had a 3500 season ever. Barely gets 200 passing yards a game.
DJ Moore is our only good WR. Kmet is a solid TE
The one thing going for us is the #1 overall pick and #10 overall pick. We also have a true #1 WR in DJ Moore meaning we don't have to take MHJR or Nabers.
Do you go with Williams and reset the QB clock for the next 4 years? That would by Poles and Eberflus 4 more years. Do you go after the for sure thing in MHJR. Giving you one of the best duo WR's in the NFL with DJ Moore and MHJR for Fields to throw to? Do you trade down again to get another haul of picks to create more depth in your roster at the cost of losing out on blue chip players?
If we're keeping Eberflus. Then I go with the second option. Having a blue chip player in MHJR will lock us up at WR for the next 10 years with him alone. And if Fields continues to suck. We start fresh with a new HC and QB.
If we're getting a new HC. I would prefer we start fresh with a new QB. I do see Williams as Fields ground at worst. We then use our #10 pick to pick up Rome Odunze to help with the WR issue.
I just don't want to hold onto a HC for continuity or another great saying. "Collaboration". Unless Poles trades the #1 pick for the #2 or #3 pick and draft MHJR. I don't want to see him trading the picks this year.

Interesting that you swore up and down there's no chance but also had to qualify it as "just an opinion".
Which is intrinsically self-contradictory.
Sure, its complex and therefore unlikely to pan out but its entirely plausible. Harbaugh would take the job if offered almost for certain. It's just that the Bears probably won't offer it because of Harbaugh's bombastic personality and his wish list. George tends to like yes-men and "nice guys", even when they suck at their jobs.

I would let the QB decision up to the potential OC. And I would suggest since you have a bona fide WR1 that you fix the trenches with the high picks and forgo wide receiver until day two and 3. in a perfect world the hotshot New coordinator thinks he has something in fields and you could trade out of that top pick.
