That is already impossible. These last two games are meaningless to you, but not to Flus and Fields.
Beyond that, I want to beat the damn cheeseheads for the first time since 2018. Set the stage for 2024.
I agree. You have players and coaches playing for their jobs - careers are on the line for some... these games mean a lot to those guys. Bears already have the Panther's pick locked up and a top-10 follow up 1st round pick for sure. And this is after the 1st overall pick of the draft earlier this year. If the Bears are hurt for the next 15-20 years after that, then they have bigger problems than winning these next two games, right?
Do you really want a HC who choked away many games? Lions and Browns?
We had a cup cake schedule. We really should have more wins with the talent we have on this roster vs what we're playing against.
Weren't you happy when the Bears got rid of Lovie during his 10-6 season? Yet this is ok to you?
Let's be honest, do we really want Flus back here after his horrible season?
We need an offensive HC. We also need a rookie QB to build around and not someone worth over 40 million a year. Fields isn't the guy. I wished he was but he ain't.
Is 8-9 record following 3-14 enough improvement for Flus to keep his job? Hoge and Jahns were talking about that, and they think so. Jahns thinks Fields is gone, and quoted all his weak passing statistics. Hoge is not a staunch Fields supporter, but tries to straddle the fence.
That's the problem right there. This is why this franchise will never improve. If we're keeping Flus. You have to keep Fields at all cost. You can't just draft another QB then get rid of the HC the following season. We've been there done that too much.
Start fresh. New HC + QB. I'm willing to keep Poles.
I watched that too. They made a good point that it will be a powerful incentive to reset the QB salary with a new QB1 if the Bears believe the new guy can be as good or better than Fields.
Hoge said Poles decision rule has flipped upside down. Last year he said he’d need to be “blown away” by a college QB to replace Fields. This year he’d have to be blown away by Fields not to be replacing him, holding the #1 pick. If Hoge’s analysis is correct, we’re probably not going to get what we want (Harrison).

It is not okay, as far as how the team performed this year. And I will admit that I'm not sure what is the best path forward because an argument can be made both ways regarding Eberflus and Fields. My gut feeling is that the Bears have already made up their mind as to what they will do with those two guys at the end of the season. Win or lose I don't think their minds would be changed by what happens in these remaining two games unless the team has epic losses or wins... some huge thing to change their minds now. I just hope they make the right decisions on it all. If I were a betting man I'd bet that they keep Eberflus and trade Fields (to reset the QB1 salary with a rookie). Fields isn't an Eberflus draftee anyway. He should be allowed to pick his QB1 and pair him with a better offensive coordinator. That's my wild guess on all of this anyway and it means nothing what I think, obviously.

The only thing I ask you is this. Should Eberflus be allowed to spend another 4 years here with a rookie QB?

Reset now.
The only way I could see Flus being kept is if they keep Fields at QB and of he gets a new OC. And I am not saying that is something I want to see happen just that I see is as a real possibility of occurring. While I feel that Flus is a better overall coach than Getsy is, I do not feel he is acceptable as a HC. He screw-ups in the 4th quarter just made me want to barf.
I think he is yet another really solid DC who aspired to be a HC and did not succeed. Maybe he needs to go back to being a DC for 3 or 4 years and try again.

Here is an interesting video about the whole topic of do we draft Caleb Williams or keep Fields. I'n posting it because I have also been struck with the comparison between Williams and Fields as being QB prospects with serious raw talent and in serious need of development.

The guy makes some good points. I think his main point is that you can't please the meatball fans who hate anyone or anything that's not in agreement with their views. I'm thankful that here on our messageboard we can disagree in a civil manner. It's okay if we see things differently. But on social media it is a different world.

The trolling, bullying, intolerance for differing viewpoints, etc is the reason I typically avoid most social media sites/platforms.
I've been impressed with the work done by Swifty on YouTube. I'm one of his supporters and his private discussion board for members is a really good place. You can learn things just reading the conversations there. Not trying to shill for his site, just that that it is a place for intelligent and informative discussion.
I was on the YouTube comments section for the following video, posted by former Bear QB Chase Daniel about how he feels that Fields is really underrated. And he is somewhat positive about the coaches and the play calling. I'm not sure I totally agree with him on this but even though he was a career NFL backup QB, he was mechanically a really good QB. But the acrimony and outright hate in the comments is really tough. In the video (at/around 14:58 in the video), you will see Fields running for his life (and making a decent gain). I saw discussion there and on other sites how Fields blew finding Mooney open down the middle. Watch the video very carefully at that point, Mooney is wide open and tearing ass downfield. But I never see him turn around to see what is going on with his QB. Unless he is the designated primary receiver on the play call, how can he know if the QB needs him to be available if he never looks back?
