We saw this w/Nagy and his O, we see it w/Getsy and his O. We see it Claypool and Mooney and Kmet, now w/Moore. We saw it w/ARob and Mooney and Kmet. How, how is it 2 O minded coaches for back to back staffs have their players so poorly prepared that constantly you see recievers/te/rbs running into eachother in routes? Last week the Kendricks almost int was b/c there was supposed to be a player clearing that area out via a crossing route taking him to the other side of the field, instead he got stuck and barely made it to midfield(check out Chase Daniels breakdown).
Is it the route concepts on the playcalls? Is it poor coaching to get them prepared? Are the common denominators the depth WRs(mooney claypool ect and kmet? Why is it this constantly happens? How can you expect young qb's to grow, let alone thrive, when they cannot trust the players around them b/c they are constantly taking eachother out, or bringing defenders into areas they shouldn't be?
I struggle to think coaches are incapable of coaching, I don't think anyone ever taught Cutler to have such faith in his arm that he could chuck it into triple coverage, nor taught him to hold the ball so low that it was easily swiped out of his hand. I don't think anyone ever told Mitch see that area w/all those defenders, throw it there instead of the spot w/less defenders. I'm positive not one coach has ever told Fields he can count to 6 before throwing in the NFL, it's normal for qb's to have all day. But here we are, and add into it, w/the last 2 staffs, WR's and TE's don't know the plays, don't know how to run the routes and make everything look like a damn clownshow taking eachother out.
It's not a lack of athletic talent, it's stupidity that hurts this team the last 4-6 years.

I think in the last two offenses the receivers have different route options each play. It's very possible they don't read the defenses the same as the next receiver so they end up in the same area. It might be time where instead of giving them options, you just give them one route to run. Probably be easier for the QB as well. Give them one route with the look at the QB, if he's scrambling to get into his vision and help him out.

That could be, so the question becomes why are they seeing the field differently to the point they end up messing up the play?
This is definitely stuff a team like KC, who's players are well established and the coaching is also can get away with, the Bears are not in that place.

This is why I put all this on the coaching staff. I can't blame getting the team ready for a specific game day/game plan on anyone else. Sure, you can blame a player who is lazy for being lazy. But if there is someone on the roster who is consistently unprepared for game day, whose job is it to recognize the issue and deal with the issue?
I think we need to dump & replace Eberflus and Getsy and let new HC/OC/DC decide on the rest of the staff.

Same issue, w/some of the same players as Nagy. At some point the blame is on the players also. Outside of the rookie year, you should know and understand what you are doing.
+1 Sure there is shared blame too, and plenty of that to go around (with the Bears). But at some point it is players doing dumb things. Last night I had to turn the TNF game off. I couldn't watch the stupid stuff the Jets players were doing. The TV cameras would focus on the Jets' coach after these (incredibly) stupid things the players were doing - and you could see him just cringe and roll his eyes. These stupid plays looked like what we see of the Bears players on gamedays - all season long. Stupid decisions, stupid penalties, and just doing bonehead things that kill drives and ultimately contribute to a loss.
The coaches can only do so much, and at some point players have to step up and execute. I'm not excusing the coaches. But I am blaming the players when they crap the bed doing stupid things that even a high school player knows you don't do. The coaches AND ALSO the players need to be better.

Getsy didn’t have this problem with the Packers receivers learning routes, did he? I remember Fields saying last year that St. Brown was one guy he could trust to be at the right place at the right time. Why can’t other players execute— hell “execute “ is Flus’s favorite word!

Again we greatly over value the talent over this team. Just like we hear media over value JF for his athleticism, the game is more then physical traits, there is a level of intelligence every position needs; no coach can overcome a player that cannot or doesn't want to use their brain. We saw that with Cutler, and with Anthony Miller and several others just recently, and the media seems to always forget it.
There is not 1 player on an NFL team that doesn't have a base level, bare minimum level of athleticism. The difference between those that fail and those that succeed is IQ and work ethic.
