Ya but how far has this convo gone? Something like..... "We should consider Harbaugh." "Ya! great idea!" Or
"We should consider Har....." "Don't you DARE finish that statement! I hate that man!"
I was against him at first, figured he had his time but he does have that pedigree to win. His Brother always seems to find ways so it must be something. Not to mention he is rumored to want to come here as well.
We need to find a way to change that losing culture and make players and staff alike want to play for the Bears.

If Michigan wins national championship, how does that factor into the picture for both McCaskey/Warren and Harbaugh? And would he draft McCarthy with the second pick. Harrison would be first pick. Trade Fields somewhere for a second round pick, and draft a center.

I'm warming to the idea after guys like Trestman, Fox, Nagy & Eberflus... at least Harbaugh's floor is higher than those guys' ceiling. He has an abrasive personality but he can coach. I'm so weary of guys who can't coach, that I'm fine if our new guy isn't the "nice guy" image the McCaskey's seem to love (think Ted Philips here). Just get a guy who has a clue about coaching. Like him or hate him, Harbaugh knows football. He played NFL quarterback for 14 seasons. At SF as a coach he took a team that had not been in the playoffs since 2002 - and coached them to three NFC Conference Championship games... with Kaepernick & Alex Smith as QBs.

In most offseasons your choice in HC candidates comes down to either A) flavors-of-the-month OCs or DCs coming off a good year or B) past-prime retread former HCs like John Fox.
The former are unproven and the Bears have a track record for picking the worst ones of the available pool. The latter are...well, you know.
In recent memory, the only 2 guys I can think of who are proven successful former NFL HCs who are NOT over the hill are Harbaugh and Sean Peyton.
And Peyton is already having a major positive effect on Denver despite having no draft capital to work with in 2023.
Harbaugh is worth a very serious look if he's interested and I think he'd be VERY INTERESTED.
