It will be interesting to see if Harbaugh leaves UM. I'll bet he doesn't, even though there is the scandal and drama going on. Winning seems to cure a lot of stuff and it's not like UM is going to fire Harbaugh. Especially since it sounds like pretty much everyone does this "illegal" scouting to some extent.
If Harbaugh becomes available, he's ABSOLUTELY YOUR #1 HC TARGET immediately. The man WINS.
I don't care if he's "abrasive" or "controlling" or whatever the hell else. Hiring the nice guys the McCaskey's like hasn't yielded any fruit. This organization needs a guy like him who won't take any crap, isn't afraid to hold a mirror to the face of the higher ups, and relentless pursues success.
But the Bears won't hire him because they're timid, inept, and fear change.

The people in charge will never give him what he wants. Full control. So as much as I would enjoy him to come here and hopefully revitalize my favorite team, I just don't see Warren, Poles and McCaskeys giving up that control.

Jim Harbaugh might be the only guy who can fix this team because he won't listen to those upstairs like the yes men Poles/Flus do. Even if we can only stomach him here for 2-4 years. I see positive change from him coming here and bringing a new era to Bear football.

If he wants complete control. Let him have it.
At least you'd have a guy in control who knows football. These guys we've had here don't seem know know squat about head coaching. Harbaugh has been a winner HC at the NFL and the college level for years. He is an offense coach.... the dude was an NFL quarterback for many years too. I'm tired of the Trestmans, Nagy & Eberflus guys. No HC is going to check all the boxes, but Harbaugh probably checks more of them than our other options. Any 1st time HC will have a learning curve and our attempts at these guys have failed. It's like the NFL head coach stage is too big for them. Harbaugh sure wouldn't have that problem.

If McCaskey hires him based on his terms, what Warren and Poles think won't matter.

Fair enough. However I believe Harbaugh and the McCaskeys also don't like each other.
