no, no you cannot. The jobs of a 4-3 OLB and a 3-4 OLB are not the same. The jobs of a CB in a man cover and in a zone cover are not the same. The jobs of a 3-4 DE and a 4-3 DE are not the same. You know that, and everyone else knows that but you cannot admit it b/c you know it makes PFF grades pointless. Thanks for playing, end of discussion.
Why would you pay attention to scheme, you are grading him vs other people playing the same scheme. Unlike PFF you aren't grading the entire NFL against eachother, you are grading only players on the Bears. What you are looking at is the ILB stopping the run(his job in a 3-4), unlike PFF who is going to grade Nick K vs a 4-3 ilb's as if they are expected to do the same things.
So he gets +1 for any positive stop he makes, but only 1/2 neg no matter how bad he is? He gave up 8 yards to a TE and he only get -.5 but he gets +1 for an assit on another guys tackle? lol okay biased shown, discussion over.
btw, 1st half, 8 rushes, 2nd half 20 rushes, didn't notice the neg grade for a RB going up the gut and being tackled by a CB for 14 yards.
I can see why you didn't do the 2nd half, Nick name comes up only 2 times, and his blocks seem to be taken by Amos or another CB.

I didn't do the 2nd half because it takes time to rewatch a game and eval a player rather than spout out a broad bullshit opinion. As I said at the very beginning of this thread before you jumped in with your PFF blathering, I'll cut it up but it takes time.
I like how you love to dismiss anything outright that doesn't suck on the balls of PFF.
All the while you blather about your professed love of PFF w/out any critical thinking involved.
You should critically think about the hypocrisy you espouse. I went back and re-watched first half of play critically thinking about each snap Nick K took. You read a stat board, watched part of the game and listened to a radio show and now you're the all knowing expert? I'm done dude. Wasted enough time on you and your Inability to grasp simple concepts
blathering about hypocrisy now? The moment you said you can grade every position the same regardless of 3-4 or 4-3 and man or zone you lost all credibility on critical thinking

In fairness, Belliot is one of our most knowledgeable posters here. You two disagree about PFF, but both of you are good posters and the PFF thing isn't worth getting worked up about. It really isn't.
FWIW, I like reading stuff from sources like PFF and Football Outsiders, not because I think any one source is gospel truth, but rather just as one more source of info to consider. Everyone can weight these type sources however they wish. Some, like you Ric, may not even rate them at all. Others may give them some consideration - but honestly I think everyone here takes sources with a grain of salt.
Belliot is a great poster here though. I don't need a PFF stat to tell me that :-)

Bell is a great poster, I love reading his takes, until he gets his nuts in a bunch over PFF.
I'm very much over advanced analytics in football, I just don't think it works like it does in baseball. There are just way to many factors, and in the end the it's only worth what the team can get out of it w/the information only they have access to. The team knows the calls, knows the plays and they can take that and add/remove what PFF gets right and wrong, were the fans cannot. MLB in the end it's still 1x1 there isn't a ton of difference in what teams do and how they do it so grading all the same at least has a little validity.
I like some sites that throw in some stuff you cannot find on NFL or ESPN, drops, TFL. And I don't mind a site like FO where they take the existing #'s and adjust those #'s based on specific things that happen on the field(ie yards after contact, or yards ball was in the air vs yards gained after the catch). But the made up stats, hurries or pressures can go kick mud, they do nothing they add nothing, they make guys like Shea and Webb look acceptable when they aren't.

Both of you two make some valid points regarding PFF. LOL, I don't think either of you are gonna change the other's mind on it though :-)
