Absolutely. Im def. interested in JR. as one of those. 2nd im not really sure tbh. I still think there is something good in Fields maybe even Bagent. We have them signed for next year, even a couple of years (if we pick JF 5th), and I think a proper coaches could get at least one of them to an average starting QB level. I really do.

That's the thrust of my 2023 season bitch thread -- if you can find a way to justify NOT taking a QB, you have two 1sts to draft MHJr and Olu the LT guy from Penn St. Both look like studs and top-10 picks.
If the QB can't thrive with those added to the O, then he's fkn hopeless.

100%. All we are really missing then is a top FA C sign, and we are set proper imo.

Exactly, and getting a good C in FA isn't that tough. Centers don't command that much $$$.
You'd have a good young OL, good RBs, two stud WRs, and hopefully a respectable defense.
This ^^^ scenario is the only hope I have left for this train wreck of a season. Fields has to stop sucking the last 8 games though to make it possible.

We are probably needing a QB, LT (if Brax doesn't shine), WR, C as "minimal" on offense. I mean the absolute minimum.... I'm not talking about the mid round crap "hope and a prayer" guys. I'm talking about the best QB, LT, WR and C that you can get your hands on (and not some overpriced-underperforming vet. Dealing away that high 2nd round pick on defense didn't exactly make me giddy with happiness. Now. If the offense had those guys in place BEFORE that deal went down then hey, I would be giddy with happiness.
Here's how this will actually go down. The Bears will throw something to the O next year. It will be the usual mix of stuff that doesn't move the needle very far... and they'll all pat each other on the back as having done something. It will be a later round C (like Borom & Brax in the 5th) or Mooney (I'm not enamored with Mooney like so many are)... but you get my drift. It will not really change the offense into something really good. And we'll moan and bitch here when the Bears look like crap next year about the offense. And I'll bet the defense (if Eberflus is still here) won't even be as good as the Lovie Smith "Cover Who" scheme he's trying to emulate.

I see all the NFL general management experts on Twitter have taken a break from posting about Ukraine and Israel to weigh in on what an idiot Ryan Poles is for not just extending Johnson.
I personally think these are ridiculous takes since no one outside of the situation really knows what offers are on the table from each side. Presumably all the people that think it is a no brainer to extend him just think that Poles should just pay what ever Johnson asks to get him extended.

I guess you are at one of those downer days. 😁
It's the same for me every year. By about this time in the season, even an optimist looks at the Bears and realizes it's another lost season. I go through this every year because the Bears go through this every year. I hung on until October 31st, this year so there is that...

I get you Dave, im very disappointed with this season, had a feeling we gonna be around 0.5, but its just a game. Owners thinking about themselves. Coaches, players. They not playing for us. It is just a game.
