I'd rather keep those that could be traded for equal to higher value, and the others are not going to give you the value worth trading.
+1 At some point you stop off-loading and tanking, and instead build something here. You can't keep creating holes when you don't even have the resources to fill the holes you already have. Time for Poles to show if he can BUILD a quality NFL team, including a viable coaching staff. Any idiot can get rid of players. A smart GM needs to be able to build the team.
Ah I thought he was a FA after this season. I stand by what I said in don't trade unless it is a great offer.
I remember years ago when the argument here with.... Who was it? Hmmm a CB we had and the board was split that a converted CB to safety could play more years at safety vs letting him go or re-sign him at CB. I don't think it was peanut but it was a good time lol.
Anyways he is still youngish for safety so if he is cheap enough and HEALTHY keep him unless......BIG OFFER lol.
He is not playing up to his big contract (next year too) and he wont be here when/if we get good, so... +he could be worth something to playoff teams. Perfect trade candidate imo
Yeah I could see Eddie getting traded, especially if we lose Sunday and fall to 2-6. He won't bring much though outside of cap relief. He's on a sizeable contract and had been hurt a lot this season and last.
I just wonder how healthy he is after what was supposed to be a particularly bad knee injury. It just sounded like pretty major reconstructive surgery was needed (grafting part of his healthy knee to the damaged knee). I'm probably just being paranoid but why would they keep the older Montez Sweat who has not been drafted as high, and has not been to a Pro Bowl like Young? Why let the 24 year old go unless there is something there, right? If you can only keep one, you'd keep the best, right?

I've been saying on Twitter if you take a chance on Young who hasn't finished a full NFL season yet, and wants a big contract, a 6th round pick max for him. That's just me though.
If teams are only offering a 3rd round pick so far, well that is interesting. Young was the #2 overall pick of the entire first round - and is only 24 years old. He was THE defensive rookie of the year in 2020 and a Pro Bowl player -- but then the injury happened requiring reconstructive surgery and grafting part of his healthy knee into his badly injured knee. I'm sure the Bears would make certain he was physically sound before they'd trade a pick for him. But he may not be quite right if teams are not willing to pony up more than a 3rd round for him now.

I'd be pretty stoked if we could get Chase Young for a 3rd round pick.
I imagine teams are a little leery of him because he did have that terrible injury and it's only been this season that he's looked back to his previous form.
It's a risk but wow if you get him cheap at 24yo and just as he's putting it all together after coming back, man that's a huge steal. I think I would make that deal as Bears have nothing homegrown at edge. It's one draftee (Dom Rob) who's not looking very good and a bunch of mid-tier FAs.
