I love the leadership and work ethic example here with Fields. In an era of players choosing to not attend the voluntary OTA's, it is good to see Fields hosting the skill guys on his own. I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun getting together off the field too... but it is an opportunity for Fields to improve chemistry/timing with these guys. And it just fosters a good mindset for the season. Put in hard work. It's like the H.I.T.S. thing but on the offense with the skill position players.

I just love hearing this.

I wonder what players will participate. One of Field’s best traits is that he really wants to win and will do whatever it takes. That’s what separates good from great in every sport. Walter Payton was the perfect example.

Wondering if Claypool is attending which says something about being self motivated (considering the other thread about the team being unhappy with him…).

According to his press conference, Fields will do this in mid July. I suspect it will be held at Brandon Marshall's workout facility in Florida as Fields has worked out with BM before.

IMO the endgame of all this is we have both Mooney and Claypool playing at 100% and both are totally integrated in the passing scheme that Getsy, Janocko and Tolbert have put together. These two should flourish as they will be playing with a legit top 10 #1 WR and be part of one of the fastest #1 - #3 WR corps in the league.

They don’t have to show up and don’t care what I think about it.

Fields and the coaches will notice. Especially if it were my contract year, I would sure as hell show up for reasons stated.

If they are rehabbing they need to be getting the help from the medical staff here in Chicago and the trainers at Halas Hall. That is more important than a plane trip to Florida. It sure sounds like Mooney has had a long journey back from the broken & surgically repaired ankle that had ligament damage. At one point he could only train in a pool with no weight on it at all. He is steadily healing and we "hope" he is ready by training camp. But his body will dictate that. I'm sure he is being monitored daily for the progress of the rehab effort.

Claypool needs to get healthy too. He had multiple injuries including the soft tissue injury. Let's just get him 100% healthy. If he is healthy then by all means fly down to Florida. If not then just get healthy for camp. JMO.
