Would the Bears be crazy to take him at #9 as our 3-tech/DE?
I don't think that is crazy at all if the Bears believe he will be an elite talent (I believe he could be).
He doesn’t yet have all the pass rush techniques perfected, but physically right there with Myles Garrett. The question is does he have the work ethic to develop more skills? I read that Eberflus and Poles met with him, so we’ll see.
Maybe the talk about this guy having issues behind the scenes wasn't so off. No one at UGA staying on his ass and he's gained 9lbs and cannot finish his pro day.
Seems we posted the same thing about the same time.
Ya he is. Teams will have to decide what the deal is. 1 could be the rumors about UGA staff having to be hard on him were true. 2 His legal issues are legit, he could have real concerns about the DA adding charges that could put him in jail 1-15 years, plus he did something stupid that cost a teammate and a staff member of the UGA football team their lives. Possibly both.
I don't touch him unless I get solid info from the DA they aren't adding anything; and then I don't touch him w/out a private team workout and meeting to deal w/the other issues.

He was so close to living the dream, the great payoff for years of work to get to this point. He's probably having mental health issues now (not surprising at all considering he crashed his dream). For many people, it would be hard to live with yourself knowing you were part of a situation that killed these two people - and one a teammate. Guilt, shame and embarrassment. And as you point out, there are legal consequences. The criminal charges are one thing, but also think of the civil litigation that will drag on from this. His NFL money will probably take a hit here... once the civil attorneys are done with him it will probably be worse (far worse) than the criminal consequences. I worked fatal traffic accidents for over 25 years. That was my job (on call 24/7) and was involved in countless litigation cases (I hated it). This one is going to be like sharks sensing the blood in the water - people will lawyer up and feast here on Carter.

Sorry you had to deal w/that. I'm not sure I'm capable of doing that more then a few times, pretty sure I'd break mentally.
Ya this kid was a few mo's away from paradise, could see it, and 1 bad night took it from him. Fate's a bitch you don't want to tangle with. He's got a lot on his plate besides just the NFL, which most guys in his position are 100% dedicated to right now.

Hopefully he goes to a team with some good veterans who can help mentor him on and off the field.
