Thud. That's the sound of his 1st round dreams falling from the sky. Pretty sad to watch a guy with those physical gifts blow his big chance... he was being talked about as a possible #1 pick of the draft (and I know, in reality that was never going to happen). Certainly he would have been a top 5 or 6 pick. Now, I'll be shocked if a team spends a precious 1st round pick on him. Dude packed on 9 pounds in 2 weeks. Must be just letting himself go.

At this rate he might report to training camp weighing 350, getting weight-related fines, and all that. This arrest, etc. must be affecting him mentally/physically.
Stuff like this, admittedly a more extreme example, are why I don't pay much attention to mock drafts early in the offseason.
Just a few weeks ago, we were told Carter was a surefire top-5 pick, a "can't-miss" prospect, and the Bears would be crazy to trade past #4 because they would be "losing out" on drafting him.
January and February mocks are purely for entertainment. Always take them with a huge grain of salt.

Meanwhile, I just read that Ade did 7.11 in 3-cone. That’s incredible for a guy weighing 282 and running 4.49 in 40. Several teams besides the Bears are looking hard at this guy. Would the Bears be crazy to take him at #9 as our 3-tech/DE? I’m getting vibes that he will not be there in the second. His physical tools are better than Wilson, Van Ness, or Murphy. Coaches can teach him the tricks of the trade he needs to learn. If they are going defense rather than Paris Johnson at #9, he should be the guy. Call me crazy.

That's my thought too. I hope he gets the help he needs right now.

That’s why they make new mocks as information changes. It’s like the stock market. The earnings estimates of companies change as analysts get new information. It’s a dynamic process.

I was thinking how it would affect me psychologically/physically to think “If I hadn’t gotten drunk and gotten into a drag race with her totally intoxicated, those two people would not have died.” For most of us, that would be a heavy weight to bear.
