What did you like about Chicago Bears QB Matt Barkley when he was coming out of school?
“Matt was one of the most prolific quarterbacks to ever play in the Pac-10/Pac-12. I think he holds a lot of the records still, played a lot of big games in college. I coached against him in a lot of big games and he was always poised, never really got rattled. I think he’s got a really good arm. I think he’s got a real sharp mind. He’s getting his opportunity now, but I thought when you watched him play last Sunday, I thought he played really well against the Titans. So, we expect the same thing coming in and we better be prepared against him.”
And that's what makes this game interesting...at least to me. I'm not only curious to see if they really have a bunch of hack Wrs who can't catch for the life of them...but i want to see if Barkley can throw together a full game.
I gave him a pass on his start last week, since it was his first start in the NFL, but he is not a rookie, so i am hoping the butterflies will be gone.
I'm looking forward to see Barkley in this second game too. Last night I watched the second half of his game on Sunday and was impressed by Barkley. I also thought the OL did a good job. After watching Adams the week before, Massie looked really good by comparison. Leno had a good game too. It was the first game this year that I felt both our tackles had a good game.
Let's see if they can have another good one. Barkley and the OL.

Barklay may just needed have time after his draft? I know I like him and want him to stay and if he keeps playing like he did in the 2nd half against the Titans, we have ourselfs a QB

Not really. He's the good all around QB that played in lots of big games in college. Not sure why it never translated, but I think he has all the Tools to succeed.
Lets see what happens, what worries me about what happened on Sunday, as much as I liked it, was that Tenn might have stopped playing being up close to 3 scores in the 4th, which is when the Barkley "magic" happened.
Lets see what happens in the next several games when the game is close.

Barkley admitted that in the 4th quarter the Tenn DEF weren't disguising their coverages or doing anything exotic with their blitzes.
I had read in his scouting reports coming out of college that he didn't have a big arm. But watching him on Sunday, it looked to me like he is not a noodle arm guy either. He doesn't have a cannon-arm like Cutler. But he seemed to have a stronger arm than Hoyer and Fales. He made some nice throws... at least I thought so.
