Wait, you mean an elite edge rusher who actually produced in college might be a better choice than an interior rusher who barely dented the stat sheet and gets winded during a playoff game?
Brady's retirement is the first step is watching the QB market this off season. 9ers and Raiders were in my thinking for Brady.
That's what I was thinking too.
Raiders are now definitely in the QB market coming draft time unless maybe they go after Jimmy G.
And the 49ers, hard to believe, may be as well. Purdy has a Tommy John injury to his throwing arm. That's a surgery and long recovery time. No guarantee he will be ready by TC. They may need a Plan B.

I think their plan B is Lance. Wouldn't be mine, but I wouldn't have traded up for him either so.....
LJackson: Contract Projection: Five years, $260 million ($52M per year); $208 million total guaranteed Daniel Jones: Contract Projection: Four years, $160 million ($40M per year); $115 million total guaranteed
#1:I think Bears should keep Monty for an AAV of ~ $7m. Why mess up a good 1-2 RB duo? Herbert blows in pass pro and he isn't much of a receiver either. Ebner wasn't impressive. We have way bigger problems to deal with to add having to create a FA or draft need at RB. A 7th round pick should be the "max investment" made at RB this offseason IMO.
Now, if he wants elite RB money, like $10m+, then yeah I let him walk. I doubt he will get anywhere near that though as he's not elite due to a lack of breakaway speed.
#2:Obvious.....don't overthink it, yeah you extend JJ. Total no-brainer.
#3:This one is stupid. Claypool plays out 2023 and then you decide. Why is this even a "decision"? It isn't.
#4: Yeah, we know. The $64,000 question.
#5: You cut Whitehair and Mohammed. You keep Jones, Watt, and maybe Patrick as cheap depth. Done
This ^^^ is something I've talked about before as a way for Poles to upgrade the offense w/o there being much available at WR in FA. Hurst, Hooper, and Schultz are also possible FAs in a similar mold ("move TEs").
Gesicki would be a good FA addition IMO. He's basically a big slot receiver, only 27 yo, and shouldn't be that expensive.
