I try to stay consistent. I'm sticking with Jay just the same as I was after the Vikings game. It still think he would have given the Bears the best chance to win more games in the first half of the season and going forward the rest of this season. The Bears need to keep or trade him, no dropping.
What's Fox's record? It's 8-17/.313. Most of us agree that he needs to go but would rather go back to alternatives with a similar record than to play Cutler. That's pretty insane in my book. It's all emotion and zero logic and I'm not built that way. I'm more than ready to move on from Cutler but only when it makes sense to do it.
Either keep him 'til we do have better or trade him and sign another place holder (not Hoyer for Christ's sake) whose at least as capable of winning his starts until we do have better. Even the teams like Philly, Tenn., and TB who drafted top QBs are no more than .500 teams right now and Mariota is the only QB playing above average yet.
Those are three of the top four QBs drafted in the last two drafts. The fourth one isn't even starting even though the guy playing ahead of him is like the 32nd ranked starter in the NFL. It's not an easy a problem to solve as many think it is. Somewhere out there is the right guy. We just need to find him but when we have fans questioning our ability to draft well to begin with and saying how we lack talent that doesn't match up well with finding that guy either so we may go from the frying pan into the fires of a Rex or an Orton or a Cade McNown again.
I'm gonna stay pragmatic and not get emotional over it.
It seems you and I are on the same page.
