We don't know how good the QB's truly are in this upcoming draft. We hear every year about how "bad" the upcoming talent is at QB. Yet other teams have drafted some solid talent at the position. And it isn't always a top-3 pick. I watched two incredible QB's play yesterday - 4th round rookie Dak, and 4th round Wilson. Both powered their teams to huge wins yesterday in big games on big stages.
I've watched over a half-century of NFL football. This is not some weird happening (a not top pick of the draft being solid at QB). It happens. It happens to other teams and not us though.
Yes, we don't know about this upcoming QB draft class. But I'll bet there will be a team that picks a solid QB in this draft - outside of a top 3 draft pick. Will it be us? Finally?
Biggest part of the problem is the lack of trying on the Bears part. They drafted Jim Harbaugh in the first round in 1987. Thirty years later and how many other first round Quarterbacks has this team drafted?
Two.
You can count Cutler as at least the franchise taking a third shot, but the lack of investment at the most important position is leaving the Bears stuck in neutral.
I completely agree with that. It is disheartening as fans to see the ineptness that has dogged this franchise for so long & still remain hopeful. Every new GM and coach that comes is met with us fans being hopeful for something good to happen - like happened with the Cubs. And I do understand that our problems with this franchise go way beyond Jay Cutler and our QB woes. It is just one of many problems with the franchise.
Nothing changed with Cutler. He's still the same guy when he's winning games and when he's losing games. I think the plan stays the same. Keep Cutler as the main QB and draft a QB in the first three rounds. I think there needs to be a tackle drafted early too. Probably draft another tackle later in the draft as well.
This one game did not change a thing. Their record is not going to be very good but there is still that slight chance of winning the division. This division is terrible and completely up for grabs. Just worry about winning those games right now. Other than that I believe the Bears are projected to have the 4th overall pick in the draft. Need to draft a difference maker there and it can be offense or defense, doesn't matter.
Look, I want the JC turnover show to end as much as anyone. There is no one that gives us the same chance to win as he does. Nor is there anyone we have that gives us the same chance to lose as he does.
I would even say Hoyer with a better D might be decent. But he is broken. Conner, for sure I would have liked to see more of also, but he is also broken. JC simply continues to be our best best as shitty as that is.
I agree he's the best we have on the roster. How sad is that? It's like saying J'Marcus Webb is the best lineman on your team. Pitiful if true.
