I agree regarding Jay. I hope he ends his career on a high note. I've never questioned his arm strength or his heart. In fact, I believe many of his poor decisions with the football over the years, wasn't due to being stupid, but rather a guy trying too hard to make a play to help the team. But when you force those things, too many times you crap the bed and look like a team-killer.
Every QB has fumbled numerous times when sacked and every QB has had multiple interception games. But the way some talk or writers write about him you'd think he was the only guy who ever did.
All I can say is we could do far worse and that we usually have.
PS; No, it wasn't a pout but it wasn't a "friendly face" either. If what Cutler has for a facial expression at times is what some call a pout then I guess I pout at times too but that still isn't my true nature.
+1 to all of that.
I'm at the point that I figure we can't change the past that was full of mistakes at all levels of the Bears organization from the top down. It has been a dysfunctional past in countless areas. Cutler came into this situation, and it was unfortunate for him, due to the fact we had zero infrastructure in place for any QB to succeed at the highest level here. It was a clown show he came to. I honestly think the Bears thought that if they just added Cutler to the mix the O would magically become something great. I think ignorant Bears fans thought so too - like Jay Cutler was gonna be the franchise savior and take us to the promised land. I think Jay tried too hard to make things work and that translated into some bad decisions and turning the ball over. And the fans (many of them) hate him for it.
I don't hate Jay Cutler. I just see the whole era of of the past several years as a train wreck.
But I can't change the past and neither can the Bears. But maybe the organization can begin to learn from the past and do better now and in the future. We'll see.
