I still think the Vikings are the team to beat. All teams have a few bad games. Just so happens the Vikings are having theirs.
Patriots got destroyed by the chiefs their Super Bowl season yet they came back. Even the mighty Brocnocs had a few bad games as well.
The division is the Packers and Vikings until both decline consistently for half a season.
If any team is going to end up alright it's going to be the Packers. They just have a better overall team and the QB. The Vikings are so one dimensional that it's starting to kick their butts. All they had going for them was a great defense but once teams can figure that out the Vikings have nothing left. If the Vikings could improve their OL and get the ground game going then I would say they are the favorite but they are looking more like a 9-7, 10-6 team.
The Packers RB situation is atrocious. They've got Montgomery a WR playing tailback and getting 50 yards vs. Indy. The week prior Rodgers was their leading RB with 60 yards vs. Atlanta. Atlanta may rank high in Run Defense but I consider this a misnomer considering all the teams they've played rank in the top half in passing & only Raiders & Carolina is in the top 14 in Rushing + ATL puts up points. A healthy Lacey is their best chance at a balanced attack and that's not saying much. Rodgers is looking very average so far.
Stafford is another QB much like Cutler whose often criticized for his turnovers and bad games as well but also like Cutler has has one hell of an arm and can win games when things are clicking for him.
As it stands the Bears have as much chance of getting back in the race as the others do of making it a race. 10-6 or 9-7 could win the division and for the Bears they key will be to win their next three division games. Without doing that they have almost no chance.
I have always kind of thought Stafford was much like Cutler but with a friendlier face :-)

Say what?............LOL
That's not a pout. Not exactly sure what that trademark expression is, but it's not a pout. But yeah, both QBs have more potential than they show on Sundays. Personally, I'd rather have Jay. I had heard stories that Stafford was asked to participate in some off season clinics and he declined because he felt he did not need them. Jay is not like that. He tries. And he wants it. Just for some reason, under duress or even not under duress, he just thinks he can get passes where he should not be trying to.

I agree regarding Jay. I hope he ends his career on a high note. I've never questioned his arm strength or his heart. In fact, I believe many of his poor decisions with the football over the years, wasn't due to being stupid, but rather a guy trying too hard to make a play to help the team. But when you force those things, too many times you crap the bed and look like a team-killer.

I think it's a nobody seems to want it type of thing. Stafford is like Jay, the Vikes are trying not to implode, and the Pack is stagnant. Stranger things but we could get hot. The Pack though is really surprising.

yea....yea.... We know about Jay, but the thing that is going to keep us awake is what to call that Stafford face

LOL, that's the face of a guy who got drafted by the Detroit Lions and was sentenced to spend his entire NFL career there. Poor sap. That is cruel and inhumane punishment...
Lions QB Matthew Stafford, wife Kelly expecting twins
Last month, the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford announced the couple were expecting their first child. On Friday, the news got doubly exciting with the Stafford family sharing they will be welcoming twins this spring.
"Surprise... we are having two for the price of one," Kelly wrote in an Instagram post.
In a separate post, Kelly noted the twins are identical girls.
The Staffords met at the University of Georgia where Matthew played quarterback and Kelly was a cheerleader. They married in April, 2015.

Well that would be my point too. He's done what was asked of him by each of his OCs and/or what needed to be done to have a shot at winning the game. Other than that every QB has had bad game.
Every QB has fumbled numerous times when sacked and every QB has had multiple interception games. But the way some talk or writers write about him you'd think he was the only guy who ever did.
All I can say is we could do far worse and that we usually have.
PS; No, it wasn't a pout but it wasn't a "friendly face" either. If what Cutler has for a facial expression at times is what some call a pout then I guess I pout at times too but that still isn't my true nature.

Stafford misses his favorite Target.. I expect the December Detroit meltdown.
